Instagram won't let me follow?

Hey everyone, I can no longer follow people on instagram and this has been going on for several days now. I don't get any pop-up screens saying i've been temp banned or anything so I'm not sure what the issue is. Has anyone else had issues like this?

how do you follow people? if you cannot follow people directly from the IG app, you can use an app, e.g., crowdfire.

You haven't really said much about ur method (manually, bot etc.) but you might have too many pending requests to private users

all those apps still use IG's API, if your blocked from using the API there is nothing you can do about it.

i am speaking from my experience. i suppose manual following using IG app directly doesnt go through API?

It aboslutely does. Any request you send directly to IG uses their API. Whether your following, liking, commenting, uploading etc on any ios/android app, bot or desktop viewer. If you are blocked from one, you are blocked from all, unless you hit a limit by whatever third party application you are using. But in the OP's case he is getting the error directly from IG.

i dont have an explanation, but the fact is i can follow up to like 40 per DAY directly from IG app, but i can follow at least 400 a day using crowdfire.

You should definitely be able to follow more than 40 per day on ig app.
I'm able to follow like 30 every 10-15 minutes on a brand new account, and follow 60 every 10-15 minutes on bigger aged accounts.

i know. i used to follow almost 1000 a day for almost 2 months. then i was kind of banned from following directly from IG app. then i found that i can follow from crowdfire.

This happened to me when I made a brand new account and just started manually following. Eventually it went away but was so annoying and every time it temporarily went away it would come back the second I mass unfollowed.

I had a similar problem recently, I had to comb through my FL logs for a few minutes and the root of the problem seemed to be that I follow requested private accounts too much and had like 4000+ requests pending.

I've been manually following for the most part and using some FL for unfollowing. How do I check my pending requests and fix the issue? I believe the issue if too many pending requests. thank you everyone for the prompt responses!

I've had the same problems following using FL and IG to mass follow / unfollow.
The only thing which seemed to work was to wait, and then post some images, and then start following again, (but not mass following using the phone app).

Right now its impossible. The best cure is time, which will hopefully result in more people either accepting or denying your request.
