JAN 2016 sucks for me

UPDATE

No sale yet :(
This site gets around 4k+ visitors per month. Organic traffic.
I think being an affiliate isn't working for me. Please recommend a good way to monetize my site. AdSense banned me. What is the best alternative out there?

Thanks!

Maybe because many people spent big amounts for the holidays and they haven't recovered yet. They will be back in Feb, I guess.

I'm going to agree with this person here.
November went good, December went great.
January is only at 30% of what December earned and only 50% of November's earnings.

I figure most people had blown a lot of their money around the holidays and need to save a little before they start handing over the cash again.

Don't know if it was said, but you probably were selling christmas gifts.

Hey bhw.
Any other legit alternative for 4k+ organic traffic per month? :(

Jan 2016 for the most part is better than Dec 2015 for me personally. The last few days has been awful though.

January is a low performing month for many. People are not buying as much as they generally would, due to holiday season passing and less disposable income at hand. Along with the fact many are paid monthly, and are not getting paid till the end of January. Adsense/Youtube earners have also taken a big hit as experienced advertisers recognize January period for being slow and many pause advertising campaigns tills the end of the month to reflect that.

Like other people said January is just a slow month but I would just keep in mind IM isn't exactly a consistent income it flows both up and down.

Jan= paying off credit card bills for Christmas. Feb-March = tax season. Hint Hint. May-Sept is the summer/vacation crowd

Probably you are just at the mercy of your site ranked in google yet you forget there are a ton of other ways to bring targetted traffic to your site.

Bring more traffic ;)

Dec 2015 was great for me. Multiple CB sales everyday. Non health niche.
two weeks in Jan 2016 not even a single sale.

Just letting go of my sadness
As others have said, January is a slow month for a lot of niches... and retailers in general. In December people spend like crazy, and then January hits and everything slows to a crawl. For many niches, it won't pick up again until March.

The exceptions are those, as it has been said, are "resolution" niches, where the customers are looking to fulfill resolutions/change their lives. So health niches (which you aren't in) relating to weightloss, muscle development etc. Interestingly, IM can kind of fall in there too because people are in the mood to quit their jobs... though high-ticket offers tend to struggle more in January because, again, a lack of money. I'm mostly in IM so sales for low-ticket offers are very high right now, but I'm expecting that to level out in March, which is when you'll likely start to see a recovery. For IM niches, summer is the rough period.

One thing that is important to note is, as someone else said here, income from IM (and any marketing in-general) is open for fluctuation.

Here is the thing. You aren't guaranteed sales.

You have a weightloss product, and then you put it in front of 100 people interested in weightloss. Sometimes, you'll get 5 sales. Sometimes, you'll get no sales. It isn't a case of "oh, if I get 1000 visitors/day I'm guaranteed sales." No. Some days you may get none. Some days you'll get tonnes.

At the end of the day... people are people with individual circumstances. You might honestly have just been advertising to people that don't have any money to spend, and it is entirely random. You have no way of knowing.

This doesn't just apply to IM. It applies to marketing in general. That is why you need to be very careful about your money management and save for rainy days.

If however, the average over a few weeks compared to a similar time the previous year comes out well-below, it is time to start looking hard at your traffic/funnel etc.

Thanks for all your input guys. :)

One question still remains. Best AdSense Alternative? How much do you think I can make with 4k+visitors/month?

It's highly depending on your niche however I'd suggest the following networks for "basic" websites with average theme like home/hobbies ... etc.

1, Add some Propeller Ads to your website.
2, Use PopAds - they're paying pretty good in some niches which could be useful example for a PBN
3, Affiliate Posts - try to find the best affiliate networks (which is actually paying also on time!) and write some articles about their products and publish one or two weekly

PS: If you cannot write articles just go to fiverr (or search in the BHW' BST section) and buy some articles.

Have fun and good luck! (y)

Agreed! It's crazy - I've been experiencing the same drop (in both affiliate sales AND ad revenue per click). I'm chalking it up to new years resolutions about spending.
