Twitter Acc Lock - Asking for Phone Verify to Unlock

I'm used to seeing the normal account lock, where changing your password unlocks the account, but I just had about 8 accounts where Twitter is telling me they will send a code to unlock the account to the account's phone number? Of course I don't have access to that.

I've never seen this before in a year and a half of working with Twitter. Is this new? Anybody else been getting it?

i was getting a few of these yesterday mixed with the usual password reset requests, where you can choose which way you want to go, you want to get the reset via email or phone, but this new request via only phone sucks

i'm not using too many accs, 100 all together and i was getting 3 of these, the accs are PVAs with email verify, i only have access to the mails, but not the phone numbers, so i just replaced the accs
i'm just not sure what triggers this new kind of phone only reset, because i'm doing pretty much the same aggressive following/unfollowing 1k/day with all of the accs, so i don't know why i didn't get 100 of these and why only 3

Twitter is getting strict now a days, they seems to transform slowly so that all the accounts would have to pass on phone verification. I could see that this security is to keep away the spam or it would atleast save them to some extent.

There is more chances that even the old accounts would trigger for phone verification if they are just email verified.

Just to clarify, these are PVA accounts. So I wonder if it only applies to PVA accounts, or if accounts are not PVA, is Twitter going to ask for a phone number? So there are definitely some unknowns here. But yes, looks like Twitter have updated their security again.

And this time its bad. Really bad. This is going to hit hard if this the new normal method for Twitter to lock your account.

13 of my PVA accs ask only for phone number, not supported in followliker, I need login manualy to this accs via browser and assigned proxy to type my phone number only then I can start project but when it is stopped they ask once again for numbers.

it's definitely to keep away spam, i think the message mentions that they detected automated activity on the acc lol and maybe they're only just testing this new reset for now, but i can easily imagine, that it will entirely replace the old, selective password reset with time, maybe even from tomorrow

the thing is that all my accs are phone verified, created from different ips, verified with different phone numbers, different emails, same age, i use one domain per account, so practically there's nothing what could link the accs together, apart from the proxies, but i only use 2 accs per ip and this new phone reset hit only 3 of my accs on 3 different proxies, but not the 97 others, i'm performing roughly same amount of actions with every accs, so that can't be it either, this pretty much left me in the dark, because there's no consistency in it whatsoever

i mean for now it's not a really serious issue, at least for me, i can replace a few accs daily, i'm not in the long run with the accs, not a biggy, just annoying, however if it becomes a habit of twitter and it will appear more and more, that can cause headaches

i'm unsure about this one, because i only use PVAs at the moment, but i think, it's what you said and from this perspective it doesn't matter if an account is PVA or not, if it is already phone verified and you don't have access to the phone number anymore, the account is toast, if it's not, you'll need to phone verify it, one would think that there's no need to phone verify the accs beforehand anymore, however those PVAs still will be more tolerant in terms of limits, so i assume they will still get less of these resets, but this is just speculation for now

so yea, the game seems to be changing again and it ain't getting easier, less competition
i'm visioning that the PVA re-verify services will be more needed than ever before

I am experiencing the same issue as well. Twitter is asking for PVA for every single action. This include updating of profile image, syncing data etc. All my twitter accounts are PVA so twitter forces to reenter the phone number again in order for following/unfollowing/ tweet/ updating profile image.

I have 10000 twitter accounts and 9,800 are asking for this. In my point of view, twitter is based upon whitelisting of API in order to identify which are the ones that they won't be asking for PVA. Example, hootsuite would be whitelisted. So twitter accounts that are connected using their APIs would not be affected. For third party bot developer, this would be a challenge for them to overcome as even with a PVA account, there will still be requirement to reenter the phone number again in order to commence activities.

The issue does not lies with the following/ unfollowing. Think Twitter has updated their security so as to get rid of spammers or non advertiser once and for all.

I have all types of bots but the worse was tsupremacy as the developer keep claiming that it was my own usage issue that causes this problem and he have ZERO customer facing issue similar to mine.

I had also request about only phone number. When i do it manually its ok but FL don`t have this function so i can`t do nothing...
They must add this feature cause without this FL is usseles.

I've been experiencing the same thing. All my accounts are (or at least were supposed to be, some actually weren't) PVA.
For me something about Follow Liker's FLC settings caused 40 accounts to lock up at once. Follow Liker support looked over my settings and said everything was fine. But that's still the only time I had accounts lock so far, and it was 40 at the same time. Whatever, the trigger was, they all need SMS verification now.

I bought some GV numbers from a BST here, and I've unlocked 2 per number so far over the past 24 hours. Now when I log in the the unlocked accounts Twitter asks to confirm my email, my phone number, or both, or neither. But it often changes the next time that account cycles around. I've also tried not logging out, but that hasn't helped. probably because I clear the cookies every time I change proxies.

Any one have any insight as to keeping cookies uniform between bots? Maybe log in through UBot, then run in Follow Liker?

I'm hoping that our accounts age a bit and lose that restriction.

I don't have a good enough understanding of APIs to know if I'm continually f-ing up by logging into these accounts through a bot I made with UBot. I change the proxy for each one, keeping it consistent, but that's as far as my understanding has taken me so far.

Also, how about PVA vs non-PVA in the current Twitter climate? I started with PVA's that were made with Spammy looking mail.ru addresses, phone numbers I don't have access to (and who knows how many other accounts those emails and phone numbers made), then even if the proxy was a U.S proxy, it's still not the same proxy they're being run off of.

I'm going to experiment with making my own accounts without PVA, and building them on the proxies they'll be run on from the start. Anyone have thoughts on or experience with this?

BTW, what's the easiest email account to create with out a phone number or other email account that doesn't reek as badly of spam as an American with a mail.ru email?

With their new updated security it looks like depending on the activity of the account they could trigger for reverification even though its Phone verified already. It is defintely a set back for those who are into twitter marketing.

So what you suggest to do? I dont want just leave my 76 accs...
All my accs fine no one get locked. Just when i want to log to some accs i must put phone number (everytime)...

Update: I wanted to check exactly what Twitter was asking for with this new lock. So I accessed the account from a browser. And it was asking for "verify your phone number". So I clicked the "Start" button under that text, and my account was unlocked. It didn't actually need me to do anything other than manually click the button. But I'm thinking that they are just testing, and probs going to roll out an actual check later. It will be one of two things. Either they will send a code to the number or they will simply ask you to enter the number. Time will tell.

All my accounts need verifying when logging in now as well, Followliker now has a setting where it will type the email verification in once logging into the account. As there is no way (as of yet) followliker can type in the phone number, i just removed the number from the twitter account which causes twitter to just ask you for the email assigned to the account, which followliker can take care of.
I think thats the only fix for now though :/
