I have tried on numerous platforms both targeting high and low competition and had absolutely no success.

I have no trouble ranking my own websites, but when trying to see some quick increase on parasites, I just can't seem to get any movement!

I have tried:

  • Press Releases
  • Business Profiles
  • Article submit websites like Purevolume, Rebelmouse e.t.c.
  • Classifieds
  • Web 2.0s

I have also varied my linkbuilding to those properties, from pure shitty spam to PBNs.

Any help on this would be great! :o

What do you're Web 2.0's look like? If they are a couple of spun crap articles on each then why would you see movement?

Invest in some high quality Web 2.0's with great relevant content. My clients do.

Yep to be honest the web 2.0s where spun crap. I will try adding better content next time.

What types of links do you go for on yours? Spam or something higher quality?

I would advise to search through the top 50 results for various keywords from your niche(s). See if there are any parasites ranking, if so reverse engineer. Personally, I've only been using parasites to test link building techniques. I can get them to the top 30 fairly easily, but page one is another story. I haven't been using them as money sites for a couple years now. I agree with the above that wordpress.com and youtube should be able to rank page one. I would rather control my sites if I put that much work into them.

Unfortunately you won't be able to rank with spun content, auto spinning is not even good to use as tier 1 let alone using as money site to rank for keywords. Get good quality content and build decent links.

You can rank spun content as long as you have your keywords in it. I did this a shit ton of times and have a few ranking now.

Heres some info.

1. Only build contextual links directly to the parasite.

2. You have to build spam to the contextual links or they wont get index, and even then only 15-20 percent of them get index.

3. You will need a couple hundred thousand links. I have a FB page parasite that has well over 300k links across tier 1 and 2 but is still out ranked by 2 sites that are using a 50 site PBN. Spam links like this have lost a lot of value as you can see 50 PBN links are stronger than 300k spam links. You have to build A LOT of links.

I think it depends on your niche, the "parasites" you choose, and how much (and what) you pump into it.

I myself have tried outsourcing it and feel that getting enough quality in the parasites is hit and miss. Content is KEY and having enough of it is key as well. Tiny little parasites with 200 words of content per page and 3 pages have a VERY hard time compared to more content rich ones with more pages and full social accounts.

Honestly "Parasite" is just a buzz word. This isn't TOO far from the tiered web2.0 building that was done in MASS back in the SeNuke days. Just manually done now, with more pages and better content.

Thanks for the replies! I can see where I have messed up here.

The quality of my content is very poor, I was hoping the domain authority would compensate for this.

I think its all about the competition, if its too hard, you will need more web 2.0's ...or, web 2.0 could work, but make them like its super quality... no spun articles and such... also, aged web 2.0 goes a long way

I'd like to get your opinion on image sharing sites like Imgur and Pinterest.. Can they work well as parasites? Say to pump juice to where the image links to (money site).

As an Imgur using I can tell you that if you submit spam to their gallery it will be removed fairly quickly.

People with downvote and report spam quickly so it's a waste of time.
