I need a bit of advice. Ive been following people (about 100-200 a day) I have an account that is aged about 5 years (my old personal account). am I not following enough people? or am I doing it wrong? Please help I want to atleast have 1000 followers by the end of the week..
I am having so much trouble with getting followers.

Impossible: you don't follow enough followers. I follow 300-400 people and I have 100 followers a day. Besides, if you follow 100 people a day, how do you want to have 1,000 followers in one week ? (7 X 100 = 700 followers).
In what niche are you? Are your tweets engaging, interesting? Are you a horny girl who shows pics of her boobs (there, you could have your 1,000 followers).
Hint: try to follow the #followback people. They won't be in your niche, but your will have followers.

I go to bigger accounts in my niche' tweets and follow the likers and RT people. so I can follow alot more people i guess.. for now i have to follow and un follow manually because I dont have much money just lost my job. I want to get a following so that i can use twitter to advertise my youtube channel and then use it to make money off of ads or whatever other ways there are to make cash lol
I signed up to tweepi. I dont understand how to use it yet.. I will check out Crowdfire now.. But the advice i was given here has gotten me alot of followers in just a short amount of time.. I am going to try sending out 1k tonight.. do i need to wait 24 hours to add people? or does it reset at 12am?

take a look at IFTTT: you could automate some tasks (not the following): DM, @ tweets when you are (or a specific theme) is mentionned, ...

It is not necessary that whom you follow,will get back followed by them,so just improve your tweets and accounts,use some amazing hashtags which are trending and then you must have followers.

I'm building up a twitter profile too and I've been using twitter for years for personal use.
Here is my advice/ tips on what works.
-Make sure you have tweets over 1,000 preferably. Most people don't like to follow accounts that look like they hardly tweet because they most likely are spam or will become inactive soon.
-Add pictures to your account. Over 100+. People love to see pictures when they visit your profile. Pictures of a person preferably so it looks like a real account. Quotes/ memes are good too.
-Follow people with followers under 100. Those people want followers too and more apt to follow you back.
-Find popular accounts and steal their tweets. Go back a couple months so the original accounts followers won't out you for blatantly stealing tweets. Use a variety of accounts to steal from.
-Once you get to 1000+ followers, join a deck/ twitter group. This way you will get followers faster because they retweet your tweets.
-Buy followers and drip feed them. People like following accounts that have a high follower to following ratio. Makes them feel important.
-Use twitter search bar to search for phrases that your target audience would tweet and follow them.
Just my 2 cents. I'm building a profile for my website now and have gained over 2000 followers in a month. All done manually.
