Forum Suggestion: Giving authority members vote rights to delete spam posts?

We all know that this place is frequently used by scammers & spammers who try to make some quick money by posting bullshit. The problem is, that these kind of threads & posts tend to live much too long till a mod finally solves the problem. Don't understand me wrong, mods are doing great work, but i don't believe they can manage this forum 24/7. On the other side we have a lot of high authority members who check this forum almost every single day, yet they can't do anything except reporting stuff. I find this is ineffective and in the long term this will & already does hurt BHW's reputation.

Forum Suggestion:

Why not give such authority members as W130SN and other people who have shown their loyalty to BHW in the past, vote rights to collectively keep this forum clean? Till now, those member always keep posting "reported" which as i already mentioned is not really effective. This makes perfect sense to me, as these members are in general very experienced & know what stuff is obvious scam & spam.

Let's say someone posts obvious nonsense, then all it takes is 3 or 5 simple votes for the thread deletion & the problem is solved. And since most members do not even report stuff, because they don't care, why not also send a report request to a mod when some of these member vote for a thread deletion. This way when the collective power fails, the mod can still solve the problem. And i am not talking about normal JR.VIP when i mean authority members.

What do you think?

Even better would be a "temporary delete" which means the power members can delete the post till the mods/admins review it and they decide if the post will be permanently deleted or not...

That would indeed be better. Connect that with vote right. 2 Votes for a temporary delete.
 
I would support a temporary delete, then a mod would have to do the final approving/declining, I think it is a good idea as well. Would get rid of a lot of spam.

I think it could be a good idea if Jr Exec and above had the ability to lock or ghost threads until they could be reviewed by Mods.
Also the ability to ghost posts or stop spam accounts from posting temporarily would be handy.
We all appreciate the work Mods put in but for those occasions when a Mod isn't available it might be helpful.
 
The german website gutefrage.net (basically a website like yahoo answers) has a similar concept and I think it worked well for them.
 
Great suggestion. For instance, this guy named "NIGG*R" was posting dick pics and spam threads nonstop, it lasted for almost 12 hours and he just kept going. If JR Executive VIPs (in the absence of mods) could ghost these threads as W13SON suggested, the forum would be a better place.

A great idea, just that what would be the level of membership to get those rights ?

I like this, but they also need to give unlimited thread deletion rights for me, Micky and Ste.

Trust me, some of those threads had images you probably don't want to see unless you're into that kind of stuff. There was actually one thread where that guy posted an obscene image of a woman in a bathtub giving herself a bath in her own diarrhoea.

Anyway, I like this idea as well. I've come across numerous threads from notorious forum spammers such as the "Black Magic Telephone Number Bot" who will spam for days on end in obscure sections before anyone else really notices. I usually report these and leave the threads alone without commenting or bumping them up, but there are times where the moderators are understandably away and they can't deal with the issue.
 
I think with regards to the massive spam that is currently going on, it is very clear how much this forum needs such a feauture asap. Look at the making money sec full of BS!
 
It's an interesting idea - definitely worth looking into the logistics of how it might work. Thanks for posting.
