Why do huge accounts in IG putting themselves private ?

As you've seen in the title of the thread I was wondering why a lot of huge account (2m+ followers) are putting themselves private ? Isn't it bad for them as they won't appear in the explorer tab ?

They usually do it when they are doing sfs with other accounts.

I doubt they keep it private for long, most times its when they Sfs or buy shouts and they want to get most out of it and to keep track of which shoutouts are gaining them the most

2M accounts don't need botting.

Botting is only good for the initial phase to get you started. Once you have an acceptable size, you don't want to risk your account anymore.

If you go public with 500 follower requests those 500 people will automatically follow you.
