Would it be stupid to sell MSDN keys on marketplaces such as e.g. eBay? I get it is against Microsft's TOS, but is there actually any certain law/punishment that can be applied? And if so what are the chances they would actually do so?

I know it can be very tempting to do so but I would imagine it would only take one or two users abusing it to get all of your licences revoked and then you would have a lot of very unhappy customers on your hands and also you would lose access to the stuff.

I don't know how likely this is to happen or if it happens at all but it would be fairly trivial to find out where the licences originated from so I wouldn't imagine it is a great idea.

I have also had access to unlimited MS licenses for virtually every product and been very tempted by this myself but always decided it would be best not to do so.

Thank you for a nice reply, gave me an expanded view of this subject. However, I might be able to live with the fact my seller account could get shut down. But I do not wanna do this if I can get charged by certain laws/punishments, can I get in serious troubles by doing this?

Yea this is a silly idea imho, especially on eBay.

You will probably get VERO'd for this or alternatively eBay themselves will just kick you for it.

I saw a thread on here before about some guy who did it. He ended up getting a shedload of chargebacks on his PayPal and was getting fu**ed.

There are less stressful ways to make a buck.

If you know already what you're doing is ethe illegal or wrong, you've already answered your own question.

People will share these keys, they'll do charge backs if they no longer work etc.
If you have a legit seller account in good order, why risk it to sell some snide products ?

I know a couple of people who sell these but only on forums they are members of.

Thanks for all responses.
