We had one listed initially, but some jerks decided that it would be fun to try and hack the box it was hosted on, so we took it offline. I'm going to throw another one up now that we're operating on a much more hardened box. Give me 5-10 minutes.maybe i'm just missing it, is there a link to a demo version of a board that was created using your app?
With phpBB's administrative control panel (ACP) you can lock forums from non-generated members joining and everything else should work as normal. Forum Generator interacts directly with phpBB's database, so locks on the web sign-ups don't directly effect it.Hi Oldenstylehats
Couple of noob questions, if I may?
- Is it possible to STOP the public from joining the FG-created forum (so it looks like closed membership, but publicly viewable)? I'm thinking if you're creating several of these, purely for backlinks, you might not want to be moderating them and fending off spammers
- How niche can it practically go (at the moment). For example if you take a big topic like "online trading" would it work best at that top level, or could you produce a well-populated FG-forum for something more focussed, like "CFD Trading"... or perhaps a localised version, like "Forex Trading for UK Traders"?
Hope that makes sense?

The more popular the subject, the more posts FG will be able to track down for that subject. However, setting your forum to the slower speed settings through FG can still yield nice forums for more obscure subjects, you just won't have the huge amount of posts in a short amount of time.EDIT - a better way of asking the question might be to relate it to monthly searches. Obviously it's difficult to generalise, but roughly speaking if you have a topic that has 100,000 searches per month would that produce a good FG forum? What about 20,000.... and so on?
Absolutely. Thanks for your interest!i can install unlimited number of forums ,right?
I guess it would depend on the nature of the commercial website. The users that Forum Generator creates won't respond to a real user directly, obviously, but if you were just planning on using it to promote a commercial website via SEO, then yet, it could be effective. Is this suitable for drawing visitors to a regular commercial website, as in:
Using this script to draw users to a regular commercial website?
As as of right now, FG must be hosted on the same server that the forum is on.OSH - can FG be set up on one server and post to forums created on another server ?
