How to Build Your OWN PBN - A Quick Guide for Newbies

Both is good practice imho, the first is good for link diversion and the second is good to keep your PBN network juiced, i find it really strange that people never backlink their PBN network, the juice in those PBN domains will diminish over time, adding a view extra backlinks can't hurt at all.

Ho Lee Crow...

I thought I was the only one who back linked their PBN?

After Googles 'flavor of the month' changes so often I decided (And noticed) one domain with a specific back link profile will be better in one update and in the next not be as good. So I started building links to my PBN domains.

I always:

1 Do a Press Release
2. Add Contextuals
3. Filter in some 'Quality' links with a lot of juice

Always does the trick to make my domains better.

LOL no you're not the only one, i always add blogcomments, web 2.0, the good old article directories some 301 domains that have juice but top little to really make an impact, and some backlink gigs, as i said i tread my PBN's as norm al moneysites that includes backlinking.

I have to say this is onlyt with my HQ networks, i still have PBN that are used for spamming the shit out of :D

Thank you for your post.
Really detailed and thoughtful. Just what I needed now.

I have a few questions:

1.Have you ever run into any problems using fake name for registering?
I got a website from Godaddy Auction, should I change the default profile setting
filing fake name and address?

2.If we use the name of the previous owner, what if the previous owner know about it and
reclaim the site? (because technically the site belongs to them according to the account info)

3. How do you use domain hunter gatherer? I used it for a whole week and can't seem to find any decent websites that has good backlink profile and good history. Most have low trust flow and used to be spammy blog network. I tried some keywords and also scraping some authority websites and niche websites.
Nothing seems to work for me.

4.If I want google to index my website as www instead of domaindotcom without using WMT what can I do? Is there a way to do it?

5.I read somewhere that Spyder Spanker itself will leave a footprint. Do you think is true?
The reason is that 'normal websites' wont block bots.

6.Do you use 1 hosting plan for just each PBN site?
Let's say we are using bluehost just to host 1 sites,it would cost $90/year
then 10 PBN will cost $900 for hosting.
How much do you normally spend on 1 PBN sites (including hosting, domains and articles)?

1) No never got in trouble, i use real addresses though (not real names obviously)
2) That is just asking for legal trouble
3) I have used it too and it works but you have to have great sources to scrape from
4) I think you could do that through htaccess but i am not sure as i find these things unimportant timewasters
5) I block the link checkers like majestic and Ahref so it isn't easy to find my shit, but i don't use other blockers
6) No i mix it up with cheap hosting, cloudflare and some SEO hosting, if you build your PBN sites correct the hosting isseu isn't as big as people often make it out to be

do you suggest using expired articles from archive.org?

No, i use fresh content from cheap writers, i guess you can still use that content if it hasen't been indexed, nothing wrong with that, i have used it plenty of times, but now my philosophy of building is making a real shift to authority PBN's so i don't use that type of content anymore.

But if i have to build a quick flash in the pan PBN for me or one or my clients, just to get some quick rankings (thing C&B or date/season sensitive rankings) i would use any content that i could get my hands on for cheap or even better for free (afterall i am Dutch ;) )

@OP hats off for losing your time writing a text which is longer than most of the articles people have on their money sites. If people would spend more time reading such posts than reading journeys, the 1% of the people who succeed would dramatically increase. Unfortunately, in most of the cases, the ones who already know 90% of the things you wrote, invest their time in such educational posts.

You already got an expert reply but I will toss my answers out as I think this discourse is super beneficial to see how different people do different things.

1. Never. I have had ICann emails claiming I wasnt all of the people I use as contact info, but I explain they are clients / friends / family / associates / etc. That is the 'worst' that has happened.

2. It doesn't belong to them, the site is just still registered with there info. I never had someone check.

What I do most often is use a random name as I described. On occasion I use the last owners contact info and that is if the site JUST went down. That happens sometimes and I get lucky with a good domain still warm from the last owner.

3. That is a trade secret.....

It comes down to resources and being SUPER creative to scrape domains. I mean, think of what NO ONE else would use as their niche or KW. Some of the domains I have are 'off the wall' but are amazing.

I will give one example as this will be abused if I share many:

Use a Keyword to search such as "Candy Cane" or 'NoGi' to search. Domains most people would NEVER look for but a few will be out there. That is how you find the gems. Be creative.

4. Does not matter. It normally indexes what you have the site set up as. As long as you are indexed that is all that matters.

5. Spyder blocks with .htaccess. So although it leaves a foot print it is not as bad as people claim. I mix it up with random blocking of some crawlers, blocking all, and blocking none. Keep it random to skate by.

6. Speaking annually.....

Decent mid range hosts on dollar SEO costs $3 each for unique A Class IPs.

Amazon has hosting on the cheap.
You can get a cheap VPS(s) to host sites.
You can find some nice shared hosting.

On average I pay $3 per month per site. I shop around, use coupons and use all real hosts. That is average but if you are careful you can host on a budget with a LOT of good and different hosts.

How much does a single site cost in total?

Content - $5 an article for 'Good Stuff'
Filler Content - Free up to 1.50 a article
Hosting - $3 a Month on Average
Domain - 10 Registration as I find them myself / Nargil finds them for me
Server to Scrape and DHG - 70 a month for unlimited domains

If I were doing this and not scraping many, the domains I use would cost about 25 - 35 with registration as sold by a seller. The rest is negligible.

A PBN is a LOT cheaper to set up than people claim. It is mostly just hard work and repetition.

Thanks for answering my questions.:)

I have more questions now:

1.How many words do you normally gets for $5 content?

2.Do you use aged/expired domains for your money sites as well?
If you use new domains for your money sites,do you use any other backlinks
for those? (so that the new domains wont be as suspicious)

3.If you are using expired domains as money sites,do you use
domains that are niche-related? If not, do you worry that
it will stand out really obvious to google like a sore thumb that
the anchor text of the backlinks and the domain name is unrelated to
your contents?

4..For the indexing www or without, what I mean is if I buy an expired domain that
has more backlinks on the www, I would want google to indexed that.
But to stay under the radar of google,I don't want to use WMT.
Do you have any process for making sure of this?

1) you get 500 words of good content,if you go to odesk or other freelance sites you can find writers that write have $2.50, quality is good enough for your PBN.

2) Yes and yes

3) Yes i always use the same niche if i use the domain for a money site for the obvious reason you mentioned

4) stop overthinking this WWW shit, it doesn't matter Google knows very well that a link with WWW and without WWW belong to the same domain, you can do a HTACCES redirect if you're really worried about missing link juice.

Thanks for answering my questions.:)

I have more questions now:

1.How many words do you normally gets for $5 content?

I get 400 words are 'elite' content. You can also go to a freelancing site and get some cheaper. I have received over 1,000 words of 'okay' content for 5 as well.

2.Do you use aged/expired domains for your money sites as well?
If you use new domains for your money sites,do you use any other backlinks

I use aged domains with existing links. New domains are harder to rank and take a lot longer.

domains that are niche-related? If not, do you worry that
it will stand out really obvious to google like a sore thumb that

I do not care much. I try to get the best domain I can find then launch a site within that niche. I never go into a project expecting to work on a niche. Well, now I am but that is because of unusual circumstances.

4..For the indexing www or without, what I mean is if I buy an expired domain that
has more backlinks on the www, I would want google to indexed that.

No way to prevent or change that. Do not worry about this. Google knows those links are yours.

I answered in the quote.

Again, giving my opinion on things and what I do differently. With a couple people giving you answers who are experienced should point you in the right direction.

What are your thoughts on using a service to build the PBN for me? I have the extra cash to throw at it, but not the extra time to build one myself.

Last edited:
I have used a couple services on BHW which were okay, but not great.

The negatives were in my eyes:

1. Use Who IS privacy too much.
2. Not enough content
3. Most use free themes
4. Domain quality is not incredible

As long as you mitigate these four issues you should be fine outsourcing.

I'm buying domains from Godaddy auctions, snapname and namejet.

1.Do you change the registration info in the snapname or namejet account
before every auctions? Or do you use different account everytime?

2.Which domain registrar that you use don't care about whois?
I registered a domain with 1&1 and they asked for ID verification.
which one do you think is good for privacy?
I've got a domain that are form snapname auction and they
are with hoverdotcom. Have you tried them?

3.do you use same PBN network for 2 different niche sites?
Or you build a PBN network for every niche?

Sorry to bombard you with question.
I'm just asking as I do.I'm building my very first PBN now,and
so many doubts just creep in.

I only have a lot of experience with GoDaddy out of those, and I change the Who Is after. The admin info stays the same so I still get emails for the domains but Who Is still shows unique details. You should not need new accounts. I used to do that and you can get your domains taken that way. Use your real account and you will be fine.

1 and 1? They are okay.

Namescheap, Name, and Name Silo tend to be my preferred go - to options for registrars but I put many on GoDaddy just to diversify things.

I build a PBN for each site. You do not need to. Some useful tips to get around that is:

1. Use Who Is on money sites
2. Randomize obl
3. Have a LOT of content on the PBNs.

So many PBN tuts popping up lately, all of them are mostly the same.
WTF man. I really want to punch you in the face.
This is a great post. I have learned something from every seo thread this guy made. If you don't find this useful GTFO. What makes me sad is that you are the first reply on this thread. I can't imagine how the OP felt after reading this as first reply.

Easy now! I am thick skinned. It is the only way to get success.

It is okay for people to hate or bash. That is apart of the internet and I got used to it a LONG time ago.

I bought an expired domain that has been redirected in the past to the owner's new website.
I read somewhere in the forum as long as they are redirected to a legit website, I can still buy the domain.
But when I typed the expired domain URL into opensiteexplorer , it directed me to the new website.
Did I make a mistake of buying this domain? Can I still used this domain as money site?

In one word, It's great. It is very helpful for anyone i think. Very informative and logical tutorial i have ever seen. Thanks for share.
