Having a helluva time getting my website to be profitable, can anyone help me?

i would avoid any illegal links or link shortners, i was recently banned from facebook for using link shortner. i had my facebook page wiped of all content and buttons on the site disabled by facebook. i had to go over 700 posts and delete the links then reapply to facebook. Have you tried netflix affiliate program?
Good site BTW

Fuck Google's adshit. If your having that much traffic try joining a cpa network. Cpa grip is a good one. Find something relevant to your sites niche and promote it.

Sell it on flippa. But be honest and tell people that its banned from adsense. With that amount of traffic you'll get a few thousand for it. Its all about how you market the site, talk of its potential etc..

Or try adding content.ad ads or mgid ads on there. They are not as high paying as adsense but you make up for it in volume of clicks as they are very "clicky". But you really need to place the ads in high click areas, if you pussy foot about trying to make your site into an art project then you wont make jack, and that goes for all ad networks pretty much.

Yeah, I looked into Netflix affiliation, but at the time they were only through google and now they aren't even around anymore. Seems they stopped their affiliate program all around. Eh, like I said, affiliate programs don't tend to well at all for my site.

Try to use Popads to monetize your website, the rates are really god for tier 1
I thought that besides being annoying, Google will penalize me in the search results for having such ads.

Is the URL block from google? Or did they just ban the account?
Looks to be a URL block as well as disabling my account. As I said above an individual interested in taking over the site from me tried to get his own adsense account linked to my site and after a day was disabled.

Maybe you should share your website here so all of us can help you find a perfect monetization method for your site ;)

I can't post the link due to me being new so if your curious, just search google for after credits and I'll be the first result. Also matches my name here.

Did you try revenuehits? You have a lot of ad types there and payment rates are pretty high, however you need to give them a few days before money starts kicking in. 40k visitors can generate you a minimum of 50$ and a lot more if you place ads correctly. pm me if you need any help.

Yep and they were awful. I heard they were good as well so I gave them a try for a few months but didn't get as much as I was expecting to get. I'll look into them again to be sure.

EDIT: Just did a quick look and although the money was okay, not a lot, but not a little, the ads really suck. They don't fit the screen and are those stupid "play" "download" ads. I'm trying not to be a jerk to my visitors with the ads that are shown. The quality of the ads are the main reason I moved away from them.

why don't you just sell ads on your website? go somewhere like buysellads and see what you can get?

Also, create an Amazon store on your website. Link to things like autographed shit by actors etc.. their official merchandise being sold on amazon? Make posts like 10 best movies of all time and link to all the DVD sets (not much money in comissions though).

What about Redbox or any other movie rental companies, do they have an affiliate program?

Have you thought of promoting movie tickets? look into programs for that.

Also you could probably promote concert tickets? Look for big tours going on and update your website accordingly.

Tbh, I am not sure how you would monetize an entertainment niche. The best thing would be to analyze all your competitors and look at what they are doing. Then do the same thing.

Adsense is probably the best way to go but since your account is disabled I am not sure what you can do. Just google adsense alternatives.

Remember, if you want to make money you will have to compromise on the quality here. You can't have a pretty looking website if you place ads and other stuff on there. Either you can have an awesome site with all the visitors and no revenue or maybe lose a few and make some cash. I mean look at all the other entertainment sites, they are loaded with ads. It is your call, either make some $$ or sit there and admire your website.

Just took a look through you website and it's obvious. Whilst your site ranks first and has great visual content it lacks text or, as Google would see it, anything unique. The site looks great and I can tell you have put a tonne of effort in, although try adding 200 - 300 words to each post, perhaps a synopsis, a review or insight re each film. Then submit the site to Adsense, you should then also be able to put in video advertising too to increase revenue.

I did use jwplayer and their video advertising solution for the trailers, interviews and such; but they discontinued that program and I haven't been able to find one since.

Thanks for the kind words, I realize most posts are pretty lacking in text, I'll look into expanding that somehow. I'm not convinced that's why I'm getting denied though because my competitor has just as much text on his site and is running google ads.

yes adsense would ban you for that, try amazon to monetize your site. Walmart is becoming more popular now they have increased their commissions to 10%, both are free to join. Also look at Ebay

Interesting. I never thought about Walmart but this is something that I will be looking into for sure.

just an idea OP have you thought of easybay plugin, it adds live ebay auctions to your site either automatically or you can do it manually in each post and they have a widget which can show upto 20 live ebay auctions in real time. The auctions count down in front of visitors, when a auction finishes it is automatically replaced by another in that category - set and forget stuff.
I use it and it works.
Movie memorabilia would be a lot on Ebay

Never heard of that one. I'll look into it.

If I got 40k hits for the new star wars release I would likely have made $2500+ with content locking. Super easy. How do you get all this movie niche traffic? Show me yours, and I'll show you mine. I can definitely monetize it. I just can't pull the traffic anymore.

I'm trying to not make my site annoying. I looked into content locking and those are the types of sites that I walk away from and never visit again. I like to think I have a good reputation and don't want to alienate anybody.

How did I do it? Grabbing a good domain name/starting early/good SEO/etc.
