The Fathoni Journey - A Learning Curve

Hello all,

In this thread, I just want to write my own learning journey. I am not noob actually. I have built some niche websites without success. I was very busy with work and projects, so i could not concentrate on learning.

Now, I want to implement a method called "the slight edge", from the book written by Jeff Olson.
I am ready to learn, the goal is to understand about SEO, building traffic, etc. Money is the other goal, but how to drive traffic from SE is the main goal.

Now, I am building an authority niche blog. The niche is around amazon product review. The blog was built in an expired domain (PR 3).
I have built this site for around 4-5 months without any development. but the traffic increase to around 40-50 visitors a day since 1-2 week ago.
Today, the site has around 65 articles. And I will post around 10-20 articles today.

I track around 30 keywords now, and the keywords stuck in page 3-4 for months.
but after i give backlink from High PR Expired Web 2.0, some keywords shoot to page 2 and 3. It's encouraging.
Although I just give 2 backlinks, 1 PR 3, 1 PR 2 from drupalgarden.
Today, I just give 1 backlink from a PR 5 expired tumblr blog and 2 PR 1 expired drupalgarden blog. Let see the result.

Semrush Update



according to Semrush, there is 340 keywords ranking in top 100 in google from my website.
I have 7 keywords ranking in page 2.
I still need a lot of hardwork.

What i like is, almost all keyword are UP in the last 30 days.
We will see in the new year if it goes up and up.

Day #2

Today, I do a bit backlinking. Involving Zombie (Expired) Tumblr. Around 10 backlink.
I also made backlink from about.me, storify, brandyourself, some review sites.

I thought about guest post. But the work process looks a lot. I also consider guestographics.
I analyze some website and I found that their website got a lot of traffic although they only made some backlinks from guest post.
Some keywords moves up to page 2. Let us see at the end of the week. I have worked a lot, I hope there is some positive results.

Day #6

Lots of work have been done these 3 days.
I have said before that I used an unrelated expired domain.
Unfortunately, it seems that before i bought the domain, the domain has got hit by a penalty.
But the penalty has been lifted though. I try to analyze the backlink, and with Ahrefs, i found 200 thousand spammy backlinks (yes 0,2 million backlinks).

Finally, I try to disavow the backlinks. And i have done it. some keywords improved just today. Let us see next week.

Anyway, I just did what tommy suggest to do competitor analysis using ahrefs. I got around 10 competitor and now i got their strongest backlinks.
I will try to imitate the backlinks, but before doing that, I think I will do "simple SEO" buy making backlink using Web 2.0

Ok, tomorrow, I will give the 1st week update, to see the progress of the blog in its 1st week of this journey. I would like to know if my work has given positive impact to the blog.

Yeay !!
I got my first sale from Amazon!
earning only $3.2 from 2 items, but i am quite happy since I just placed the affiliate link in 3 contents in 9 december.
A good start!

thank you, Actually, What I do is not hard work. I just try to do simple things every day like posting one article daily.
the problem is keep working on that every day, although it's only a simple thing.

I got around $70 last month. overall, it's good, because i only add some backlinks and no new contents.
I will try to add 3 articles/day to the site this month. Let's see if 90 articles can push the visitor and earnings further.

anyway, if the earning is good enough, i am interested in buying another sharkar service.
his service is good.

I just purchased another SEO Service from my friend who is very good in SEO. I hope it will turn out to be a good purchase.

This months alone, I have posted around 40 articles. So my website is now contain of around 110 articles.
Traffic is increasing to around 120-140 visitors/day
