BHW Get Fit in 2016 Thread

The best thing you can do is pair intermittent fasting with calisthenics, i know im 15 and ur gonna be like tf does this kid thing his doing but it worked for me and it was amazing.
Calisthenics= bodyweight exercises, push ups, sit ups (but you need a proper workout program)What i used was kinobody bodyweightmastery (no im not an affiliate)
Intermittent fasting= you dont eat for a certain time and then you have a time to eat so for example i dont eat for 16 hours and i eat for 8 it might sound stupid but it has been scientifically proven and its amazing, i was going at the rate of 1-2kg a week and it was amazingg, im shredded af rn :P but you can read more about intermittent fasting online, I just posted an article on my blog about it if you would want to read it pm me and ill send u the blog but if you dont want to read an article written by a 15 year old :P search google ;) i wouldnt mind.

BB, do you ever post less than 1000 words?

I bet your sales pages are literally miles long... wow.

I once saw him write a post that was 997 words long, but when he realized it he quickly added five words to it.

As for this thread, could do with some more exercise myself, but I know I'll just be eating everything in about 5 minutes flat when I get back from jogging, so I counter that by sitting here and reading about fitness on BHW. Life is great.

This is true. I write a lot consciously aware that 98% of people will skip.

The problem started when my mom (teacher) noticed I wasn't right handed. Her 4 previous sons were. When she gave me a pen / pencil I always rotated hands. I think that and being real quiet made her suspect I had a learning disability. So she'd move it to my right and make me write that way. Then I'd go back to left and this went on for about 3 years switching hands. My ass got the broom many times and I was forced to write like I was in a concentration camp. Copying books. Writing stories. Daily journals. News. I always wrote till my wrists were sore or I started crying.

The same pattern repeated my whole life. Till this day I have no dominant eating hand. Forks and knives always switch hands. I golfed many years with left and right clubs. When I skated I was left and right till I fractured my left ankle and went dominant right. Every sport I played was the same story.

Doctors call it ambidextrous but I'm like 20% left handed, 30% right, 50% both.

I love BreaknBrix's stream of consciousness posts. If you wrote a series of short stories, I'd buy the shit out of them. You remind me of BHW's own https://www.reddit.com/user/Rob_G.

UPDATE: I'm still fat.

The truth

If you are not fit and you need to open a thread to motivate your self, you will never be fit.

Being "fit" is more then diet and exercise, I am not talking about lifestyle shit that instagram is trying to sell. Its about you want it so bad, its not a obligations its fun.

I am an active person, I am hitting the gym for maybe 9 years now and I know if a person will stay or just give up the first day of working out.

My point start exercising and after a week or two you don't find it interesting and more as a chore, you will never be fit. I like it, I like the pain, I like to kill mi self in every exercise but then I get up and become stronger. You also become stronger physically and mentally, as most of the experience lifters can tell you a good workout begins with the mind.

Anyway I am 213 pounds but I'm not fat.

What are you looking to do, get fit or lose weight ? The two are not the same.

I run a few hundred kilometres a month and do the same on a bike and I would'nt recommend exercise for easy weight loss.

The body needs its calories and when you burn them off through exercise your body will crave them back and you will be starving. I just ate a half pack of chocolate hobnobs but I ran 15K this morning so I can afford the extra calories. If you are looking to lose weight then 90% of it will come from the kitchen.

Weight loss has got fuck all to with anything else but calories. Sure I can low carb for a week to get cut but thats only a cosmetic alteration its not actual long term weight loss.

Download the My fitness pal app and track everything you eat for a few weeks. Be strict and make sure to add in every spoon full of sugar or splash of olive oil, by doing this you will see where the empty calories you are eating are coming from.

1lb of weight is 3500 calories. If you want to be hardcore you can set a standard to reduce your daily calorie intake by 500. That would be 1Lb a week which is the most you should be losing to maintain.

Its easier to drop 250 calories a day. You wont even notice it and you will find a food like Bananas that are low cal that fill you up.

Obviously a bit of exercise like walking is all a help but anything strenous will just make you hungry.

Here's my tip, give up SUGAR ...Period.

Note: refined white sugar is far more addictive than cocaine!

I did this at the start of 2015 and have lost 9lbs so far...weight lost is NOT something you only do at the start of the year, its a lifestyle change for GOOD.:)

SUGAR, yes I am planning to completely quit it after watching the Sugar Film.

I started concentrating on weight loss after i reached 170 pounds.

After six months of little to moderate exercise say 3-4 times per week and a simple diet plan. Now, i am at 148 pounds close to 140 pounds normal weight for my height and age.

Mostly you can lower 1pound per week as normal. If you are really series then you can go for 2 pound per week. You need to lower the calorie intake and burn more calories. Use myfitnesspal app and you can use few methods below.

Now, i am trying to get fit by following weight training by doing squats, deadlifting, bench press , overhead press and the like.

Here are the things I have followed to lower 4pounds per month.

Exercise:
1. Using this site https://www.stepjockey.com/ a simple plan and works very well. Going up and down in stairs for 30-45 minutes a day will surely help you to reduce fat by burning calories.

2. You can start doing crunches slowly at first and then increase the reps

3. Do some weight training, you can follow http://stronglifts.com/5x5/

Diet plan.

1. Less your sugar intake.
2. Have Green tea
3. Lower your fat intake.

I'd love to GAIN weight... I'm 187cm in height and never had more than 68kg ever - I'm almost 40!

The Taxis wont stop around here since the last round of lynchings !

Seriously though I will be aiming to do 100K a week over christmas depending on how much the legs are liking it. Give it a go you might suprise yourself.

Mate, that's almost 10 Miles, you crazy? Don't they have Taxi's in your neck of the woods?
Impressed and shocked at the same time.

Btw dont planning it.

Just do it. Non stop for 1 week Or 2 weeks.

Then it will turn into habit.

Why does a service not exist where you just pay $5000 or whatever and they put you into a coma and only feed you the absolute necessary nutrients via a drip until you reach your target weight.

You just go to sleep, wake up 3 weeks later in a new body.

Why are we not doing this?

Why all the trouble? Just send me that money. I'll just find some asian shaman/tantric guru here to chant up some
spell to fucking make you all slim n fit...

Fair play to you, pretty decent achievement.

Give it a go you might suprise yourself.

I am at my most unfit and unhealthy ever. I think even walking a mile would send me to the Cardiac Unit at my local hospital.

Will definitely be looking to turn things around in 2016.

The single most important fitness consideration for a "mouse potato" audience is offsetting all the hours spent sitting in front of a PC, day after day. Even working out an hour a day doesn't compensate for the negative factor of constantly sitting down the rest of the time, you have to do more. The below articles suggest doing 5-10 minutes of exercise every waking hour, and trying to limit your sitting time just 3 hours max daily to stay fit.
