CTR may be bad, but the time on site is actually quite ok. I for one wasted lots of time looking at the details, playing with the mouse, and listening to the music.

Responsive Boat Theme has a parallax effect built in. Possibly other themes do as well.

Not sure how good they are as I don't use those type of themes.

RIOT games (League of Legends) have had quite a few for some of their news/upcoming patches down the line.

It took about 3 1/2 seconds to load for me (6 if you count the time it takes for the design to come in). A bit too long when you compare it to other sites, but I've seen worse.

That is a dope site. I have not seen the pseudo 3D effect done before on a landing page.

It does have high cool factor, but is it practical? High load times and a good chance of not working on different browsers.
