How do you know how much I make? I'd be willing to bet I make more than Brian Dean. Not sure about Neil Patel now he's not involved in KissMetrics.

As an aside, I am a reader of both of their blogs and both are great resources. You have no idea how much money they make, though.

It wouldnt be that hard to change products though, I'd reckon it would take me an hour or so. Got to change few words in review and also bunch of comments on it from "real people"... but i'd gladly do that if you think other products convert better than these numbers.

You mentioned earlier you copy/pasted comments, just changing the first line. Be careful with this. Disqus algo can now spot this super-quick and FB are not far behind, don't fall into this trap otherwise your domain will get blacklisted.

Also, don't forget or dismiss inoccuous looking blogs that appear at the back end of results in the web tab. Some of these blogs have a huge, loyal following and can get 100's of visitors per comment - FB and Disqus are not the only places you can get traffic from.

You'll also get some juice from those blogs which will help in SERPS, if of course you actually write something unique in your review.

Those articles vendors give you do not actually convert well at all. It is best to spend a few hours and investigate the product you're reviewing, and write something unique. Not only will your conversion rates be better immediately, but you'll also get organic traffic in the long term.

Ok, so reading through this for awhile (not all 100+ pages though) I think I have a plan that makes sense:

I chose a category and started asking for review copies on CB. I want to make sure that the product creator is responsive and I also want to review the product first.

I have a domain name and site and once I have 5 or so products sent back to me for review I will write the reviews and upload them to the site. Studio press theme with graphics set purchased on fiverr. Site is news/blog/review site, mainly with articles used for SEO and marketing purposes and to look more legit.

Make corresponding FB, Twitter, Pinterest accounts and promote through those avenues as well as forum posting.

We'll see how it goes, only one CB product creator has sent review copy so far.

Again, thanks to Meathead for creating this thread so many years ago. I look forward to updating with progress.

Look back in the thread bud. I did a test on this last year, I think the answer was 24 hours if I remember correct.

For the last question there is no set answer, I suppose 1 if it is ultra-targeted, and max infinite if you're just spamming a highly spun site with zero thought.

You're not going to get suspended from promoting CB products. Something was likely off about what the affiliate did, stealing content or using spam bots etc.

Direct linking is probably why they got banned. This method doesn't do that so don't worry about it.

I did get results with this a while back, but I don't really have time to pursue this further. If you're a noob doing this, it can get daunting at first, but the most important part of this is niche selection. If you mess up the niche, it won't be fun for you at all, period.

But if you have a good niche, you'll still find that disqus is a bitch to get approved on. Here are some ways that I used to get approved, because I understand as a noob it might not be easy to deal with proxies and stuff.

- use Youtube videos. Look at some popular vids in your niche, then find a similiar but less popular video, and download it. Watermark the vid with your domain, and be sure to include your (cloaked) aff link in the first line in the description.
- upload this vid to your youtube account. If you have gmail, you have one. Create a channel and upload the video there.
- when commenting on disqus, drop the link to the YT vid instead of your domain.
- to further diversify, upload the vid on other tube sites. Metacafe, vimeo, etc,etc. Just make sure you watermark the vids and include aff link
- to further, further diversify, share the vid on your FB account, and drop the FB post link in your comments. This is less effective, but it will get your comments approved. Also works on G+, Tumblr, etc

Also:
- Take the review you wrote, and copy and paste it into word and save it as pdf.
- upload the pdf to google docs, slideshare, etc
- now drop those links in your comments. Be sure to link to your money site in the pdf to get whatever minimal SEO benefit that offers.

You can twist it indefinitely. This is not perfect because this brings the visitor to a third party site instead of your own site, but if you can't afford a vpn or multiple domains it does work to get your comments approved. good luck guys, hope this helps

This is also a really good way to strengthen the power of the videos as web 2.0s as well.

Thank you for the super helpful comment. Any tips on niches to avoid? I am in the diabetes niche right now, have VA commenting with buzzbundle and using other social media share tools. Just wanted to make sure that niche isn't one of them. Averaging 40-50 visitors to my website per day, many of them to the clickbank review articles. No sales yet...This is the VA's first week and I'm liking the trajectory we're on.

SO I'm going to return to this method after my 1st FAILURE (about 6 months ago)

The first time I picked the weight loss niche. I had a very hard time finding good articles to comment on. Do you guys think this was the problem? I only managed to get around 175 total hops, although they were high priced products ($75-100 range)

Should I ditch the weight loss/muscle niche or try to get more hops before giving up on that one?
