Attention! Design fraud!

I have faced a lot of fraud in design sphere! I write this thread in order to protect you from similar situation!
In Russia we often use the service of freelance designers. As far as I know, this tendency is spread all over the world.
The majority of designers asks for 50% prepayment. A very few of them use contract. As a rule, it is convenient to use
contract only when both company and designer are located in the same city. However, when you work as freelancer, you
can work on the projects from the people, living in other cities or even other countries. And some dishonest designers
use the "advantages" of this situation! They can just take your prepayment and then the bird has flown!

So be careful! Search the name of designer in the Internet, in case you are interested to work through freelance!
May be you will find him in the black list... Who knows???

Anyway, I would also warn people to watch out for people blatantly promoting their own company:

You should search the name of everybody and every company you are thinking about paying to provide you a service! Should be the top of your priority when deciding to work with them or not. Not sure the best method really for people in foreign countries when it comes to buying from freelancers and preventing getting shafted. Only real option is to find a third party that can hold the prepayment until the service is provided, but that still carries obvious risks.
