My Journey to $500/Day Using Shopify.

nice thread. i have a few questions.

1, why AliExpress? can't you use ebay, amazon? what's the advantages of AliExpress?
2, you said because you are tired of the DMs, so you create your own site. now you dont sell through DMs anymore? how?
3, why shopify? shopify is just something that you can use to easily create a storefront? why not using vendio which has some free plans?
4, how do you get the stealth profit margin? by using supreme graphics of the products?
5, so you are using IG ads to sell, so it really doesnt matter how many followers you have right? it prolly doesnt even matter if your IG has a niche if you are not profiting from followers? are all your sales made from the ads?

just one question. It seems like you are charging like $80 for the product, how much are you paying for that product?

Very soon there will be more people on earth doing this dropshipping method than buying.

I don't use eBay at all and a lot of times AliExpress seems a bit cheaper. I don't like Amazon to be honest so haven't really compared.

2, you said because you are tired of the DMs, so you create your own site. now you dont sell through DMs anymore? how?
Because now on all IG posts, there's a link to my website to purchase directly. The main reason I wanted a website was because I was losing money from customers DM'ing me on 1 product. When they're on the website they can browse around and FILL THAT F***ING cart up lol. I want them filling their cart then getting a discount option off of a certain amount they purchase.
3, why shopify? shopify is just something that you can use to easily create a storefront? why not using vendio which has some free plans?
I didn't spend too much time comparing platforms at all. I just knew Shopify had everything I wanted to get going.
4, how do you get the stealth profit margin? by using supreme graphics of the products?
My margin can be anywhere from 25% - 1000%. Just depends on the product.
5, so you are using IG ads to sell, so it really doesnt matter how many followers you have right? it prolly doesnt even matter if your IG has a niche if you are not profiting from followers? are all your sales made from the ads?
I was using the IG AD's temporarily. I wanted to see how they worked and also wanted to try on Black Friday / Cyber Monday. I haven't ran them again yet. Want to get more products on website to make more $ before I do that.

Answers above dude.

I have products that vary in price all over. The amount of $80 is just the average. My markup is usually around 20% - 65%. Sometimes though it's much much higher. I have great knowledge of my product in my niche, so I know how to accurately price it to what I know I can get away with. Sometimes the difference between pricing a product at $49.99 instead of $54.99 can be the difference between making a sale and having an abandoned shopping cart.

Hahaha...right? I was thinking the same kind of. I started off just researching on here the best answer to give customers when their AliExpress item didn't come within like 2 weeks. Just to discover there's a new method that everyone seems to be doing. I started this project in like early August. I'm hoping to beat the competitors with a very well branded business, good service, excellent product photos etc. I think a lot of the competition who are just simply setting up a site and drop-shipping from AliExpress direct to customer will be out of business in about 6 months because they're not wanting to put much $ or effort into it. I want this to be sustainable business to where I can scale it out eventually. So I'm making sure I do everything right the 1st time. So I'm hoping this will be a really good journey post to follow and read for others. Of course I won't divulge EVERYTHING, but I'll chat with whoever wants to ask questions of their own.

Good Luck on your journey OP, I recently created a shopify site and promoted my products with IG accounts, I didn't have to buy ads.

is there software out there that let's you post automatically to Instagram or maybe bulk upload and schedule? You would think there would be because Instagram is from Facebook. Do they have an API already?

I only paid for AD's for maybe 5-6 days. I wanted to gauge it and see how it'd be to learn from. Most of my marketing is organic too. I hate paying for ADs lol

which app do you use to put link in IG captions?

I just post products and captions manually for the most part. If there's any cool app to automate to some extent I'd like to know too. Hashtags are bitch and I usually just copy/paste those from older posts.

For the most part as far as I know Instagram doesn't allow 3rd party api devolpment to keep their posts authentic and avoid bots/spam. Smart on their part I guess haha ;-)

hmm.. i thought you have clickable links in captions so people dont DM you anymore?
i found some app here http://socialmediaweek.org/blog/2015/07/12-ways-sell-instagram/
so you are not using any of these apps?

i have tried to find sellers on IG and have yet to find any..

Yea, I'll post my website link in the caption and then also say that the links in my bio. It's utterly amazing how dumb people are who will post a comment saying "how do I buy this?" when the link is in each post +bio lolol.

I'll checkout the link thanks.

Havent heard anything new, whats going on? im starting my own similar journey.

What's up bro, sorry. Just was sorting a few things out with the website. I was habving an issue with Instagram ADs not displaying correctly and Facebook was offering the worst support. Finally got it fixed by using a different browser + using POWER EDITOR as well within Facebook. I'm attaching the last 7 days of my websites traffic + sales. Been a bit slow (I was also out of town visiting family).

I've started advertising on IG again today though. I'm doing only $10/day and I installed the pixel on my checkout page too to track the conversions. I'm having awfully shitty conversions (I feel like). Out of the entire life of the website I've had like 120 cart additions, 40 people get to the checkout and only 14 purchase womp womp. If anyone has any tips on getting higher conversions please share.

Good luck in your journey homey!!!

Also...I still have yet to get in touch with anyone on here that's doing big sh*t on Shopify. Would love to chat and maybe pick your brain and learn from someone else who's doing really well. Would be awesome to have somewhat of a mentor. I clearly can hold the reins and make money on the website myself, but I know a little bit of advice and guidance from someone else who's been more successful than myself would help me do so much better. I can wish I guess lol.

do you think you can make sales without paying ads?

I just sent you a PM bud.

Goodluck on journey, nice to see results, is that low conversion rate youre getting?
Seems okay to average to me..
But I do wonder why so many people get to cart and then not buy it, any ideas?

If you do the free item + shipping you're gonna see a lot of abandoned carts, where as if you ran a modern ecommerce store and were upfront with your prices and offered free shipping as a surprise, you'd probably see a lot less abandoned carts. Doing the giveaway method, there's no way around this. I've calculated my conversion rate to about %1-%2, so for every 100 visitors, I might get one or two sales.
