Why don't you look at your competitors websites ?
I do not think that you will have a hard time having a better and more professional looking website than most.

One of your competitors (WP at the bottom of the page) with a spot on website in my opinion :

If the need be i can also upload a page regarding the services we offer and how we work on them etc.. This would provide a better understanding for my clients.

Also i donot intend to use Comic sans - This is something which would obviously scare my clients off

Iam basically working with another designer in order to give the website the right touch. I dont want it to be too shabby nor do i want it to look too dull.

Lets hope things work out as expected !! If you people have some more ideas up your sleaves for my content writing website, feel free to send them my way!

imho i would say there is not a 'best theme'. there are some themes for some type of blogs. i mean if you do news, movies, music there are different best theme for each of them...

Im not talking about a general best theme. I need something which would suit my business well. Me and my team basically write content. And i wish to build a website for that. In order to reach a bigger audience.

It also depends on how dirty you want to get your hands into the code/css/php. If you want less of that and more set it and forget it then go for a WooThemes or premiumthemes. Both have good backends that even a client could handle, or an employee can be trained to make changes to. Want to change the color scheme? One click and done. Some themese give too few options or waaaay too many.
