Thanks ≠ I agree

I agree with this statement. However, posting "I agree" without adding anything to the discussion is pointless. If you want to say you agree, then tell us why.

If the OP needs validation, they should create a poll on the thread with "Do you agree yes/no".

But posting stuff like this:

  • I agree / I don't agree
  • you raise an interesting point
  • me too
  • thanks, I'll try this soon
  • thanks but I won't try this
  • this is great stuff
  • thanks for this post
  • keep up the good work
  • good luck for the future
  • I am interested in your journey

or virtually any of the other variations on a theme - all spam. If you see it, report it. It'll be deleted and the poster will get a warning. Repeat offences = infractions -> bans

I agree with Apricot. A post should contribute with extra information on the subject until the problem is solved. Imagine an opened thread like an unsolved puzzle. Every meaningful post connects a piece to the puzzle. When you post "i agree / bump bump" it's like throwing your boogers on the puzzle :)

Yeah, I agree. I very much agree with the chair. And might I say, it's a very comfy chair.

Actually, there should be a "Spam/Troll" (any equivalent name) counter button. When clicked, the button will show a count and add to the existing number (init being 0). Reaching 10, the post will be auto reported, and mods have the liberty to take any action. Advantage: the quality of posting will improve, the compulsive spammer will be spotted/marked. Mods will know which members are posting just for bumping/spamming/trolling or aimless posting... The button can be abused like any other thing, but the button activator is listed, and if mods think that the button was needlessly activated, then that member becomes secretly blacklisted and appropriate action can be taken in due time.

The new button will help increase posts quality IMO.
