Best wordpress theme

Hey everyone,
Ive been trying to design a wordpress theme, but so far i have not been able to get the proper inspiration.

I would like the blog to be exciting, colorful and it should look professional. I dont want it to be filled with cheap colors, just a few colors which would help the site look active and not dull.

Can you guys help me out and tell me about some cool wordpress themes out there which you guys really like so i can take a look at them and maybe get a clearer view of what would be best for my website?

I use both Flex themes and Flexsqueeze. Both are very nice, but I like the added feature being able to add a squeeze page to my blogs that Flexsqueeze has.

I had this problem at first too. I don't know how to create my own templates so I did a search for "free wordpress themes". I created a file with those that I thought had potential and played around with some of them to see which theme I liked better and also what style I liked better.
One excellent benefit of Wordpress is that you can upload multiple themes to your hosting service and then in your Wordpress admin area you can select each theme and see a preview of it on your website. Upload a few different themes and you will begin to see what you want for your site.

Why not use Artisteer? I couldn't do graphics to save my life but I've made some killer ones in the last few days just messing around with it...

The issue is that iam launching a website for my content writing services. Something like a company website.

However, i cant just use a free wordpress theme. I'll need a unique theme, trying to build a strong brand presence here.

However, do you think a black - dull looking theme would be more suitable for a company website or do you think different colors with a few effects would be better?

Definitely a colourful theme. Dullness is no sales. Why not use a theme framework like Hybrid or Thesis? And what's wrong with a free theme? If you want a paid one, try looking in the BHW downloads section for them.

imho i would say there is not a 'best theme'. there are some themes for some type of blogs. i mean if you do news, movies, music there are different best theme for each of them...

Why don't you look at your competitors websites ?
I do not think that you will have a hard time having a better and more professional looking website than most.

i like flexx, but come on theirs free ones that are wicked i mean just look around for 10-20 minutes in the wordpress themes directory their are really awesome ones

i dont know why but i've become obsessed with jquery based themes there just so slick and smooth
