No, we do not need the actual product. If you can provide information that accurately describes your product and is specific enough for us to go on, then we usually don't require it.

How many words will the homepage review contain?

Sending samples to all three of you. A top 5 comparison review would typically be NO LESS than 2,200 words, and can be considerably more depending on the nature of the topic. Individual product reviews are typically 700-800 words long.

Unfortunately I do not currently have a top-5 article that I'm permitted to use as samples. I have others though, let me know if you want to have a look at them. Individual product reviews are $29 per page.
