Music has been a big passion of mine for a while, I just get a good feeling when I show someone a song and they like it. About 8 months ago I started my current YouTube channel and it has 500 subscribers almost, all real and organic.

I am trying to get as popular as channels like Majestic Casual (2.6m subs), TheSoundYouNeed (3.3m subs), etc. I will be doing everything I can to achieve this (without breaking too many rules on too many websites). I have plenty of money to invest.

Start: November 16th 2015

YouTube: 465 subscribers
Will not be using any bots for this as this is where I need to be fully legit with my traffic. I'll be optimizing my videos internally and making backlinks to them over time (still not exactly sure how to build backlinks to YouTube videos efficiently). For subscibers, when songs are given away for free I use a gate to subscribe to my channel.

Facebook: 14 likes
Not going to use any bots for this, but I will post all my videos here after they are published on YouTube. Looking to get real targeted traffic and I'm sure some of the artists I promote may share me.

Twitter: 17 followers
I share all my videos here too after they are published. Most likely going to use FollowLiker, but not entirely sure if I should use it on my main account.

SoundCloud: 59 followers
This is where I find the music. Most followers will come from gates forcing users to follow me if they would like free downloads. This has been working alright till now.

Instagram: 11 followers
I post short snippets of songs on my channel on this. Looks very professional. Using Instagress at the moment, from other people's journeys it seems that FollowLiker is better. I'm considering purchasing it. Also shoutouts will work I guess, but not entirely sure when I should start buying shoutouts.

Update posts will now be this colour. My Fiverr gigs came in, bought 800 social bookmarks for one of my videos and instead got 1246 (extras). Did not seem to help the ranking for that one particular video, but it's whatever who cares. My views Fiverr gigs went terrible, not buying again. Fiverr is just generally a bad service in my opinion.

- Posted a new track on my channel - free download. This should earn me a few subscribers over the next few days.
- Emailed record label to request permission for uploading a song yesterday, no reply still.
- Also emailed a photographer to request to use his photos in my videos, no reply from that either.
- Built 5 Tumblr links to my new popular video to help out ranking.

I'm thinking of posting tracks on my channel on Facebook groups - maybe it will help Google/YouTube ranking, not exactly sure. Need to do research on this as I'm a complete newbie.

YouTube - 477 subscribers (+12)
Uploaded two tracks since last update, not exactly sure where these subscribers came from. Better than average growth, not complaining.

Facebook - 14 likes (no change)
No activity on my Facebook page. Actually this post reminded me to repost my latest upload on Facebook.

Twitter - 21 followers (+4)
Just a few followbacks, not doing anything special here. Only repost my YouTube uploads here.

SoundCloud - 65 followers (+6)
I guess these came from my comments on things + two people from Instagram followed my SoundCloud.

Instagram - 169 followers (+158)
This is where the real gains are. I have been following people crazy using Instagress. I decided not to do comments because I am trying to have a professional brand, and with spammy comments I won't get far. So I'm sticking to likes & follows right now. Actually I think some people have been looking at my SoundCloud page from here... great way to make new fans lol

The tracks I upload are usually free downloads I find on SoundCloud as well as some tracks which record labels have given me permission for.

Two more Fiverr gigs came in (1 for views and 1 for social signals). Not too happy with them, so they are offering me some extra stuff in exchange for a positive review. Meh whatever I'll take it. Felt happy because someone shared a track I uploaded on Google+ and tagged me.

- Messaged a record label to let me use their track
- Emailed a popular producer to see what the copyright is like for his new track that he released on Parlophone Records (If I can feature this it will be a lot of views...)

No new replies from labels or photographers today, no submissions either.
A free download track that I uploaded about 3 months ago is getting released on this brand new record label by one of the most popular producers in the game right now. This makes me excited, but I had to message them regarding copyright anyway as I don't want to risk a takedown.

YouTube - 484 subscribers (+7)
Uploaded 1 track today, average growth. Needs to be a little bit higher, but I see as my fanbase is growing people are finding it easier to subscribe. I guess it's more comfortable subscribing to a channel when there are a lot of other people. You feel "included" in the group.

Facebook - 14 likes (no change)
No activity on my Facebook page. Just posted the daily upload.

Twitter - 27 followers (+6)
Started posting with #hashtags and it has worked. I mean...just one or two clever, witty posts about music, and then a post of the video I uploaded. Emojis help loads.

SoundCloud - 69 followers (+6)
Downloads and more downloads. Nothing special about this one.

Instagram - 205 followers (+36)
Today was an unfollowing day, so I guess not that great of gains. It's not a problem though, it adds up.
I also heard Instagram was updating their API soon, so this means it's possible bots will stop working soon.
Means I will need to find a new solution to grow my social medias somehow. This is terrible!!

Didn't do much today ... Was busy with chemistry and biology work at school.
No new replies from labels or photographers today, no submissions either. Overall slow day...

- Purchased FollowLiker for Instagram and set it up
- Got in touch with GSA support (I owned SER on a separate email a few years ago, seeing if I can transfer the license)

YouTube - 493 subscribers (+9)
Uploaded 1 track today - apparently people liked it! 9 subscribers is a very good amount for 1 day for the size of my channel.
I'm getting tired of channels ripping songs off my channels and literally just using a different picture so they gain subscribers off them.

Facebook - 14 likes (no change)
No activity on my Facebook page. Just posted the daily upload.

Twitter - 28 followers (+1)
Didn't post anything but the song today. Retweeted by the artist, so that's a good one.

SoundCloud - 73 followers (+4)
Downloads and more downloads. Nothing special about this one.

Started following again - yesterday I was confused about the situation with Instagram APIs so I thought I wasn't purchasing FollowLiker. I had a talk with their support and they claimed FollowLiker was in fact NOT affected by the update, so as soon as I heard that I purchased it. Good news for me. As Martin Garrix says: The only way is up!

It's FRIDAY! Today was a pretty good day - not going to lie. I finished all my school projects but I have a bunch of tests next week so I will be busy a few hours studying.
Today I received a bunch of messages on different social media types, all "thanking" me for taking time to share my favourite music to save their time. I appreciate it, a lot. These are my "superfans" that like my work.
Also, I realized that I have a bunch of haters or jealous people. I get a dislike almost every time after uploading nowadays, so I guess someone loves to dislike my videos. Whatever, this is only motivating more.
Talked to the owner of a channel with 150,000 subscribers, he says he is following my work and says I got potential to be a lot more popular.

- uploaded an old song (from a year ago) that needs more exposure. Going to test ranking this against 5 other uploads from months ago with thousands of views. We'll see.
- updated my description layout, looks much more professional and attractive now
- started FollowLiker for Instagram again
- Getting GSA SER set up, this will take a few days to a week EDIT: Cannot find my license this is shit... Wish I wasn't so stupid when I was 13 and first started SEO

One REALLY good day. Got a ton of views and likes today as well, this is going to help my ranking. I'm extremely happy that I finally passed the mark of 500 subscribers.

Facebook - 14 likes (no change)
No activity on my Facebook page. Just posted the daily upload.

Didn't post anything but the song today. Justin Bieber followers are retweeting me, what the fk lol..

This one was where the gains were at. My first day with FollowLiker was absolutely awesome. I love it and I can't stop using it. Still currently only using Likes & Follows, am getting not such a good FollowBack rate, but that should improve over time. I followed about 1000 people today.

Bigger entities are beginning to notice me, because I have such a wide variety of knowledge about a lot of things related to this industry:
copyright, marketing, video branding, graphics design, social networking, search engine optimization as well as a good taste in music.

So yesterday I was EXTREMELY happy with my gains and today I am EXTREMELIER happy with my gains!! This is my most subscribers per day gained EVER. I guess that video I posted about a week ago really paid off. (shame I can't say what it is here). Also my "subscribe gates" paid off too. I am super happy with today's gains. No videos uploaded today.

Twitter - 26 followers (-2)

SoundCloud - 78 followers (+3)
Nothing special (again)

Instagram - 500 followers (+118)
Today's gains were not so good. My post got less than 10% Follower-To-Like ratio, which sucks, but I was using some different hashtags so I guess it is ok. I just wish my page were bigger, lol. Getting closer to that 1k mark where I could buy shoutouts!

It's Sunday and I didn't do much.

- thought of possible ways I could rank my website for keywords and did keyword research
- found 60 keywords that are feasible to rank in top 5 - in total it has about 120,000 searches per month
- messaged a label regarding possibly featuring one of their new tracks - got rejected because a channel with 500k+ subscribers is featuring it. sucks

Today was a great day too. Got a high amount of views and subscribers. It's only going up. No videos uploaded.

No posts.

Twitter - 26 followers (no change)
Did nothing special on Twitter. Retweeted 3 times just to stay active, but otherwise nothing.

SoundCloud - 80 followers (+2)
Nothing special (again). Just reposted some stuff from other artists.

Instagram - 600 followers (+100)
A solid 100 follower gain. Pretty decent day for no post.

As you saw, I didn't have any social media posts today. It helps a lot to post every single day, just to show that you're active. Sometimes it is not doable, but you must try.

Maybe I am going to turn this into a weekly update type of thing as it seems like I'd be doing the same things every day and I can't say what types of videos I am going to upload as that would reveal my channel, etc... Whatever. Also I ask that if someone looks for my channel please do not post it here thanks.

What has happened in the last week?
Video was taken down for "violating YouTube TOS" and it was down for about 4 days so I lost a lot of potential views -- however: 4 days later they reinstated my video with no comment so I guess it was a mistake on their end. Oh well, shit happens ... wish it could be avoided though.

-Gained a crapload of views and subscribers - been getting more consistent. Videos typically get between 200-400 views on average now, this is much better than before. I am seeing a steady increase.
-I am helping a bigger channel (170k subscribers) optimize their stuff in order to outrank the competition for their keywords. Social signals, tags, description, etc.
-I warned a bigger channel (230k subs) to take down a video because of copyright issues. They assured me it was OK, and guess what 5 days later they receive a copyright strike. Should have listened to me.

Buying 200 PBN links for 1 video, hopefully it is going to rank extremely well (that will bring me millions of views as it gets a SHITLOAD of monthly searches, and when I say shitload I mean millions).

Also I did a bit of a nice rebranding that is very nice looking and I could see that kind of stuff printed on t-shirts etc. I feel like it's quite amazing how it looks now.

EDIT:
I want to release a mixtape soon - if I can get the artists to repost it on their SoundClouds it may end up with me receiving a lot of plays on it - and for that reason, a lot of followers and subscribers.
