So not to duplicate the content, please read that post as my humble suggestion to improve more security for potential clients of a shitlisted accused.

I feel like that would be too soon, stopping someones business as soon as someone opens a thread... nah that can be damaging.

I feel like until the moment arrives where the seller requires to prove his innocence or provide evidence leave them open.

Or give them a 48 hour window to provide everything they need to settle the SL before the thread

Unless this is used against members who have a SL going on for more than, let's say 48 hours like Ste Hughes suggested, this may just cause a sudden influx of SL threads from competitors (or people they pay off to do this) who see this as an opportunity to easily stop their competitors' businesses.

In the event that the accused member in the SL thread turns out to be innocent, this idea could potentially discourage them and others from selling here if they believe they were treated unfairly.

I think it would be a bad idea OP, you have to presume someone is innocent until proven guilty. Maybe you can indicate on the BST that the seller is on the SL & then let the buyer decide if it is worth the risk to proceed.

i saw this being done multiple times already when it was justifiable, but it's the mod's decision who handles the particular SL thread
the latest example i noticed is petirthunder's SL thread, his sales thread was removed by jazzc right away when the SL thread went live and in that case it stayed like that

We deal on this on a case by case basis, there is no need for a hard rule as it can't fit all circumstances.

For the record, his sales thread was temp-removed by another mod before the SL was even approved.

Yep, that was me. There were multiple issues with the sales thread both connected and unconnected to the shitlist thread, so it was removed while I checked into it. While this was in progress, a shitlist thread was submitted.

Generally, we wouldn't close a sales thread until there's reason to do so. Otherwise, we run the risk of new accounts being opened to submit SL threads and keep someone's marketplace thread closed. If there are multiple issues or reports on a seller's thread, we may close it temporarily pending more information.

Not all sellers are good, similarly not all buyers have reasonable expectations or no hidden agendas. It would be unfair to put a stranglehold on someone's business without good reason to do so. The moment we feel there's grounds to do so, we will and it can be re-opened after if necessary.
