Investments for testing. How much?

Hello,

So I finally decided to jump on CPA marketing via paid ads, learn it and make millions. I have a video course about CPA from http://www.stackthatmoney.com forum, I had heard only good words about what course. So my main question is, how much money i need to have in order to properly test the campaigns and find winners. I am very afraid to lose all money for testing ads and end up with empty wallet... So before I take any action, I need to know how much approximately I need to have money for testing ads/campaings?

I'd highly recommend you start with mobile offers and mobile advertising as its the fastest growing paid ad platform as compared to facebook or google which already make it difficult for cpa marketers.

As for your question according to Charles Ngo (a million dollar Mobile Advertiser) it's best to have atleast $2000-4000 for initial testing, however $1000 can get you profitable if you learn fast. check out his blog and click the "Start Here" page to get a run down of all of his recommendations for noobs.

If you don't have the budget to dump a few thousand into a project I got some advice from personal experience.

Way back in the day when i was a little fish in the pond and was buying banner space I usually kept a rule of thumb of putting 3x the offer payout into the ad.

So if i'm running a PPL offer that pays out $5, I will put roughly $15-20 into the banner. If I don't see a single conversion I would usually move on. If I got 1 or 2 conversions it was time to optimize and run more traffic and test more factors.

Thanks guys for help. I just found Charles Ngo website/blog and there are so much interesting posts .. he is doing really well in aff marketing. I went thrue all 6 weeks af chalenge and learned a lot of things. And yes, mobile traffic is growing now very much,so I am planning to advertise on fb but on mobile traffic.

I just want to add a crucial point here, if you are afraid of loosing money, do not start paid market, period.. Paid market is like gambling, when you put your money in, it's best to just forget about it, if you win awesome, if not, you need to put more money to get profitable. That's how it is, separate at least 3k$ for testing and just forget about it. Good luck

Yes yes, I know, mate. The main factor to success is to be consistance and to have right mindset. In aff marketing we need to buy data and , buy buy and buy until you found winning campaing. Also its enough to find only one winning campaing to get huge profits.

Know what people likes that,whom will paid for it , where you could advertise it for free to make " free test " ,what does people eat for dinner ,anything you can ! The more informations you have the better your campaign it will be . Then you can select a traffic provider,negociate an offer with him and make sure he has all the targeting you need! That's a very important thing as many people disregard to optimize their campaign properly so they end up with few results and think the traffic that was sent was poorly : Wrong .

The traffic source will be facebook ads. I want to master this source of traffic first and later start mastering other sources. So facebook giving huge targeting ability.

So I understand that to start CPA with paid ads ,I need $3k-$4k. But now one issue/thought comes to my mind.. what if I spent $4k on testing and still havent find winner... But also I am thinking, if I spend such huge amount on testing and havent optimizited correctly to find winner - CPA is not for me or I am making huge mistakes in optimizing ads. What is your thoughts guys ?

Depending on the traffic source it doesn't make sense to run tests below $1-2.5k for a campaign from my experiences. In best case in addition with several Banners and a proper A/B testing solution from the beginning obviously
