Hello BHW
I've finally decided to start this journey to keep better track on my earnings, help the BHW community and be helped by others members. I've decided to start this journey right now because only in this period i've started to see some real income and i'm very motivated to continue my work on my project
I've come across the potentiality of Amazon Aff one year ago, and this is the second site i've built for Amazon Aff program. The first project i've builted around Amaz Aff teached me a lot about Amazon site, niche research, and so on..The knowledge learnt from failing and testing experience is gold in long term but also BHW community pointed me in the right directions with some must read threads:
In these years of IM, I learned that very often the most professional projects are those that also have more success, so I decided to create an authority site, instead of putting up a simple site reviews. My goal is to create a benchmark for my niche where readers can find useful and professional information. In essence, it is always a good thing to create your own brand and build reputation.
I've applied all this know how to this new project started on first days of September 2015. Today is 2 November and this are all the stuff i've done in 2 month working.
- Niche research: I've done some kw research and i've picked up a particular niche in hi-tech niche. It's not a niche of easy climb, but my intention to create an authority site will help me a lot in lifts in the SERP of Google. When choosing a niche and creating Amazon site is also important to check the price of the products advertised. In my case, most of products are sold at a minimum of 50 Eur up to 300 Eur. In this field is better to sell a single gadget that costs 300 Eur rather than many products that costs 5/10 Eur in terms of commissions. We must also says that the more you sell on Amaz, the more you earn in terms of commissions.
- Pick up a brand new domain name, get hosting, set up WP
- Pick a logo on Fiver ( Fiver for logo is the worst choice and i'm thinking to replace it soon with a new better quality logo)
- Write content: I've got more then 60+ original articles right now, all articles are 900+ words and they are divided mainly in: Reviews, Guides, and News. The 90% of the articles are written by me and sometimes i pay writers when the works is too much for me and i need some help. It's hard to find good writers because every articles is important and must be structured and filled with KW and other SEO stuff, so this is why i always prefer to write articles on my own. In the Reviews articles i personally review the gadget filling with usefull informations, video and slideshow. In the Guides articles i compare products with Table and create something like a products ranking. The News articles are obviously fresh content about incoming products or best prices.
- Tables are good for conversions and every Amaz Sites should have some comparison tables. I'm currently creating my table with TablePress plugin for Wordpress. In my last articles i've created my table with Compare Ninja with the free subscription (i've found this site googleling " wordpress css table comparison ") - it's very easy to create a table with this tool but the free versions comes with Ads and others stuffs that let the table seems not so professional. I'm currently thinking to get the Premium version of Compare Ninja to get more tables styles and remove ads. If someone has experience with this site please tell me your point of view and experience, i need to understand if the money are well spent for the premium version (30 USD for 1 one years) - obviously i'm not the owner of Compare Ninja, i'm not affiliate with them and neither knows this services until 2 days ago.
- Backlinking: Following Argan advice, i've started to contact other webmasters in my niche telling them my site contains high quality content and if we can collaborate and do some guest post exchange - with this strategy i'm currently writing some articles for an high PR site on my same niche and i've got very good backlinks from them. This is a long term strategy and i hope to build good backling structure in the future months.
I also build manually my backlinks by commenting other articles in my same niche, i use google alert to find good articles to comment about with my link. Pay attention to what you write because there is always high risk that your comments is marked as spam... try to impersonate a customers and when commenting post a questions instead of a statement.
- Social Media: I've build Facebook Page and Twitter Account manually and i use Buffer to schedule my post and grow my audience. Every new articles, i scheduled it on Buffer so i always have fresh content to publish. In this 2 months i've noted that Facebook is the social platform where i get more clicks, instead of Twitter that seems useless for getting visitors to my site - I know the importance of social presence for SEO so i will continue to improve Facebook and Twitter account.
- Ninja Plugin: I'm currently growing my facebook page with this good Wp plugin. I use the plugin on two different facebook pages . For a month I send likes on the official facebook page of my website, and for the following month i send the likes on a Facebook page dedicated to Amazon. I will make grow the Facebook page dedicated to Amazon until December, when i will begin to publish Amazon offers for Christmas. This is a little test, we'll see how it goes.
- Web 2.0: I've started to create Web 2.0 platforms manually, but it needs a huge works so i've create for now only a wordpress.com blog, publishing some articles when i have time. I'm planning to create also a blogspot and others platforms.
