Segemai Retail and Zinc.IO provide APIs for programmatically ordering products on Amazon.

Has anybody every enquired/tried them out. What is the pricing and is it reliable?

Zinc.io is stupidly expensive, about $1 an order. On top of that you need to get their repricing software. I say drop a chunk of change and have someone develop it for you

Yes it sure is. $1/order is ridiculous. That said, I spoke with them and they are open to a volume discount.

As far as I know, you don't need the separate repricing stuff. You can get the ordering API on it's own.

Segemai never replied to my query. Hopefully they will this week.

But regarding your other advice. Getting my own solution is by far the best idea.

Cool idea. I'm familiar with the PAAPI and saw reference to a virtual cart but never though to use it.

Yea, to be honest building it myself is my long term goal but I will user a 3rd party if my scale requires it before I have time to develop.

There are advantages and dis-advantages of both approaches: having own solution and using 3rd party one.

Owning a software feels greater in control, but these kind of software require continuous maintenance, and it may be costly in long run with maintenance, hosting etc costs. Also some parts are quite complex (from outset seems easy) like auto-ordering process, and is easy to be mistaken and go wrong. And then you are the only one guiding the developer - limited improvements..

For a 3rd party tool, they typically have better access to multiple developers which results in better quality; and then they are discussing with multiple sellers, thus getting more ideas for improvements, which not only benefit the seller suggesting them but everybody else using that platform; bugs are fixed faster, and so on.
