These threads put PR in the title to attract all the mindless sheep.
OMG PR6 LINKS FOR $1??? ILL BUY IT NOW!!!!!!
Turns out the domain lost all its links years ago lol.
These days I only follow the PT and JK domain metrics. Find them far more useful when ranking sites. In fact a bought a domain name with a PT of 37 and a JK of 35 and it only took me just over a week to rank it first page for a 45k competetive high paying keyword.
I seen that many thread still put keywords PR in the title.
But I hear about pagerank is dead.
any ideas?
I was waiting for someone to come on here and say, "Yeah, I know what you mean, bro! I just got myself a domain with 65 PT and ranked it like it was nothing, brah".
Google still uses PR in it's algorithm. However they no longer release the updates publicly.
Meaning that all current PR statuses that you can see on webpages are from the last public updates.
Why are some of us still using it?
Because, in conjunction with other metrics (PA/DA for example) can weed out low quality pages. Meaning that you can scan through tons of urls and get an idea of their quality without the need of hand checking each url.
