I F***ed up my NAP!!

SO when I first started my business I used my home address for my G+ business page(hidden address due to being service business). My other 100's citations now have my UPS store mailbox address.

One thought is having one citation wrong isnt so bad...BUT its my google business page( even tho i hide my address I believe google uses it to match other citations). Is this a huge deal? or just like having one hiccup citation out there wrong?

I have been thinking about this all day and feel like it can have a huge impact. I didnt realize that google still looks at the address from the G+ page even tho it is hidden.

**Also does NAP, especially in this situation have an effect on Organic SEO results?


oh yes by the way when I use moz local to check my citations, it does not show my G+ listing or others as inconsistent, so this leaves me hope that it doesnt matter...that much

Please let me know what the deal is on this situation, good or bad ill take it like a man.

Well I have a new alternative to the meaning of nap.

Not to sound dumb but if its hidden how can that affect you if if everything else has a different business address?

Its because google still uses the address you enter to match up with your other citations. They hide it for "the users experience" so that they do not try and go to business that is not a brick and mortar shop. Hiding it is pretty much for service area businesses or at home businesses. Also when logged into the my business dashboard, if i go to edit business info, theres a notification saying incorrect info and it puts my address in red. They know its the wrong address from everything else online(citations).

Yes you can try and change it, but there is a high chance your G+ goes into review a requires verification again OR they automatically close out that page and create a new one for you with the new address ( start from scratch..No reviews..No photos or anything) On top of that they would probably notice its a UPS mailbox address and just delete it all together.

Thru my research ive learned that when creating a SAB in google+ you should use your home address and use that address for all your NAP citations as well. Many dont like to do that for privacy reasons.

So that leaves me with my question, How damaging is it to have your NAP in G+ (even tho its a hidden address) dashboard different from all your other citations? Is it equal to having some random citation out there incorrect OR is it a bigger deal than that?
