Hard to ask hard to answer eBay questions

Hi there,

Finally going to ask these here. First, the background:

Was an eBay powerseller about two months ago. When I was first learning the ropes I did some things with my first account (picked less than great quality items, didn't upload my tracking #'s on time, etc) that led to it falling below standard. By that time I had built up to three accounts. The next month I sold something like 157 items out of the 198 it would have taken me to get back to "above standard" but it wasn't enough.

Had all three ops shut down by "the man" due to their account linking policy.

About four days ago I was notified that eBay had readmitted one of my accounts (100% positive feedback) at a 600 item selling limit.

Here are my questions:

1. Can I go full commando on this or should I be slowly building it up (20 items a day?)

2. My PayPal holds are OFF! This puts me in a weird position because
A) Any accounts I create now should technically have their holds off
B) This paypal account is linked to two accounts that have been shut down (only one was below standard the other had 100% positive feedback)

Can I create other accounts linked to this Paypal? Would be insanely nice to create another 4 accounts (for a total of five) and begin banking again by December

3. I've been researching Stealth accounts. It seems like a lot of big players are using them but I'm finding out that they can only do 200 items or $20,000 in sales per year. I'd usually do that in two to three months selling on eBay (per account starting out) Is there any way around that or are you guys just creating hundreds or accounts and keeping them tiny? How are you managing that many accounts?

4. Can I open a new Paypal account under my name + address and begin creating accounts for it on eBay/selling? I'm sure that they'd link the two Paypals and eBay accounts by address but I've been reinstated.. What do you think?

If anybody has any insight on those that'd be gargantuan

1) You should slowly build up they are going to keep an eye on readmitted accounts.
2) You do not want to link paypal accounts.
3) There is no way around it. Best way to keep track of accounts is to add user accounts on windows and have use a dedicated vpn for each ebay account/paypal account.

Also am interested in knowing whether you big players call eBay to get your limits raised?

I've always called them on the day my account was available to get it's upgrade.. however I'm hearing that some people just wait for the auto upgrades so that they can keep contact/eyes on their accounts at a minimum?

Well you can but the accounts wouldn't be stealth then. Ebay will know that your account is linked to other accounts and if one account gets shutdown all the others will too.
Usually they will bump up your selling limit after first month of successful sales. If you call them up. They might ask you tricky questions and get your account in more trouble especially if its stealth. Check out aspkin for stealth accounts. They have fresh accounts with 1000/25000$ selling limits.

Either you cool down, abandon the account, or go legit by providing a working tax id. Remember, you DON'T have to provide a SS, just a valid tax id.

It's pretty random but in my experience, it's CRUCIAL that your first 20 or so transactions go smoothly, because if you get any defects in the beginning you won't get increases for a while. I've had accounts get one neutral feedback because customer didn't read the listing and that account didn't get any increases 18 months later, while 2 other accounts I made that same day are at 64K and 400K limits. What i sell is low sellthrough so it may be different for you, but they bump up all my accounts to $10-$20K within the first 4-5 months then about 6 months later, they bump it up to $50K-$200K.

I also noticed that they bump up your visibility at around 100 feedback and you get another bump up at around 500. Once you get around 500 feedback you have a decent chance of being on first page of many search keywords.

you can, but that means that if one eBay account goes down, ALL accounts linked to that paypal goes down

You just got your account back so I would play it safe. It would be stupid to risk it now. A 600/m selling limit still allows for a decent income. Where are you getting your products from?

Having a business account with legit tax id will keep paypal off your back, unless you start selling a lot of vero stuff, intangible goods, or high risk items like electronics or basketball shoes. I also keep withdrawals to under $1K at a time. A lot actually depends on what you sell, both on eBay and paypal.

You're using your name and information to create the LLC(s). That doesn't become a problem when you link that tax ID with your stealth Paypals (which have a different name and address)?

The only info eBay can get from tax ID is the address where the corporation received its legal mail.

You need an EIN (LLC) that you can apply for unlimited times (remember that it is not sole proprietorship). Now, you need to have the account upgraded to business and have this number before Paypal requests you for it, which happens in the manner that after 3 notices they limit the account and at that point you can only withdraw or send money but not receive.

Your LLC name has to match your Paypal Business Name, which you will create. When you apply for EIN (LLC) you register your real address that you have access to, and you can include your Paypal's business address as your secondary address on EIN application. Paypal will only check if the EIN # and Business Name match, the rest is irrelevant.

If you were limited with those 3 notices, then you will have to call Paypal and ask them to manually attach EIN (LLC); some reps may not even know how to do it or refuse but you gotta be persistent. Now, you will have EIN attached to your Paypal but it will still ask you for SSN and to that I know few solutions, which had worked for some and hadnt for the others:

1) You will enter SSN as last 4 digits of your EIN
2) You would need to find someone (or yourself) who can generate a random SSN, which will be based on DOB and location of the person registered on the account (regardless if it is fictional). And yes SSN number algorithms are known and this info can be found on the internet.

I myself dont bother with US accounts anymore and am officially done with them.

I now create and sell high limit Canadian Paypals and eBay only, which dont have that document request at 200/20k and in general are more lenient towards users.

You're creating an LLC for each paypal/ebay account yeah?
