My Blogger blog DESTROYED after "hacker" threatened it.

About 20 articles ranked on first page of Google after years of work are now GONE and now on 5-6th page, CRUSHED...

This happened after a "hacker" threatened my blog and said he would "destroy it".

I'm not sure WHAT the hell he did or could do.

I checked ahrefs and all links are normal, nothing out of the ordinary or new that would raise a red flag though it may take a while to update.

This JUST happened after he said it.

(I did also change some of the headers to a lot of articles by SHORTENING them, but that should HELP SEO, not hurt it, so I don't think that is the issue.)

Any help?

Every time you update the blogs, you should expect a change in rankings.

At least for the next 2 weeks, until they fall into place.

You say it happened just after he said it, like how soon after? i mean if it was days then the ranking changes wont be because of him surely?

lots of sites got hit in the last two days. Maybe u got hit my either an algo or manual penalty? Just out of curiosity.. do you have some cloaked SAPE link pointing to your site?

Ok, update:

Lots of weird coincidences.

It's possible this idiot "hacker" threat had nothing to do with this.

I did update a lot of "headers" to my blog titles and shortened them. No idea if that would matter. I actually changed them back.

NO PENALTY IN WEBMASTER TOOLS. Nothing. No messages.

Could just be an algo update???

Unless he had been working on destroying OP's site for several months before he made the threat.

Think its likely the so called hacker was some dumb ass who wouldn't be able to find his own arse with 2 hands tbh.

Lots of people are reporting ranking decreases lately - so its probably google

Yeah there's no way it could be him.

To take down a Blogger.com blog would be hard, can't hack it anyway.

Changes in the headers can activate quite a nice dance in SERP, for the good or for the bad.
TBH, I doubt a "hacker" as he call himself, would involve himself in SEO jacking. Or he's not a hacker but a talented SEO guy.

What does your link building strategy looks like in term of span time ? anything new / anything not new ?

Don't think anyone can do that much of an instant impact on a website to be honest. You said it happened as soon as he threatened you, my vote is on coincidence.
