Hello,

So Etsy decided to close my shop today. And they aren't willing to open it again. So I have decided to open my own website instead so I don't fall in the risk of getting deleted again.

  • What are your tips on opening my own store on my own domain?
  • And are there any good tools?
  • Any good guides I should read?
  • How do I build trust?
  • Is there any other sites like Etsy I should be joining to build a high-end fashion brand?

Before you do anything else, answer the most fundamental "question":

How do I drive traffic to my website?

After you have answered that question, then you are ready to move on to the next step, like building the store (which is easy nowadays).

Check out the CPC for Adwords and Bing Ads see if you can get some cheap clicks from them. Probably not cheap but you never know. I don't know what you are selling so can't help you there. Also could try facebook ads.

I would need to know more about your niche to give you more information on how to set the online company up.

I'm selling jewelry, mainly made from natural stone. Won't the store get closed again if I open one more?

I don't think that's again their TOS, did you do anything else like boosting followers and stuff. Any Blackhat stuff?

No, just had some items I didn't make myself..

Those who have stores on Etsy, Amazon, and eBay will ALWAYS be at the mercy of a faceless company's whims. Meanwhile you are likely giving free SEO to these companies and making them stronger by the day, thus making your bar to entry for your own site higher.

I don't think clicks would be that expensive for you. I suggest setting up a nice site and trying out facebook/bing.

Actually, it seems like everyone and their mother sells jewelry, so his CPC would be expensive.

Building your own site and branding your self is def the way to go. If you need a business partner just let me know im always interested in adding new businesses to my portfolio.

Etsy is s*ck today, there are some people who follow their rules but still got banned.

My etsy also got closed last month, however, we already foresaw this coming ever since we started so we keep in contact with the big affiliates and draw them to our new website when it got closed down.

I know this post is long ago, but just search your etsy url with a quote and youll see some of your affiliates.
