Instagram Account Stolen

Yesterday my account was stolen by first changing the password, then username and then email address. I've identified how they accessed the account and closed any potential future problems. But...... They changed the email address to a hotmail account.

I've submitted all the relevant forms with Instagram and even sent them a copy of passport and local tax statement, but its there any other way to get back access? Its my personal account with around 60K followers which as taken me years to organically build and basically has my life in there so dont know if I could even start it all again.

Any help would be appreciated.....

They've unlinked it to facebook by the looks of it. So coming up blank there.

Hope they accept your identification efforts. That's all you can do online.

Offline you could seek a lawyer and see whether you can treat this as theft and get the authorities involved, if this account is really worth it.

Folks invest a lot into Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and they don't realize they don't really own anything....these are just pages inside a site which belong to someone else. Really amazing how people invest thousands of $ into Facebook not realizing they are paying Facebook to pay Facebook....

Thanks, yea I think I've done all I can do unless someone can help me access the bastards hotmail account they changed the email too..... Its the time I've spent building my profile that's the sickening thing. As I model brands often book me due to my following, or at least its a contributing factor.

Thats a damn shame, i can imagine it would be a pain in the ass. In future be sure to use an email address not linked to anything else with a decent password. Best of luck getting your account back.

Update: After a relatively simple yet effective verification process Instagram have given me back access of the account. Useful to know for those looking to buy a dodgy account... The user CAN get it back

That sounds really bad, man. All you can do right now is to hope for IG's verification process to work on you. That's the only way you can get it back.
