Blog commenting - the right way?

Hi,
what is the right way to comment on blogs with a link pointing to your money site? I understand they have to be long niche-related comments which add value. But where to put link? In signature or in comment? Or both? I want to pass some useful link juice to my site...

The right way is to first use buzzsumo or a similar tool to ensure you're targeting the site that will yield best results.

Then write good, useful comments that add value to the blog post in question. This might seem like a hassle but is well worth it in the long run.

As for link juice, well I'm afraid that a lot of blog comments are NoFollow. But if you post something great then you'll get good referral traffic.

Blogcommenting doesn't work for linkjuice anymore, since you can spam 10000+ comments an hour.. It might gain you a bit traffic, but wont really affect your rank

I don't have the definitive answer, but I'd recommend not doing just one thing. Try just using your name as the link (which happens automatically when you're asked for a URL when leaving a comment). Or if you're drawing the readers attention to a page on your site then post the URL in the comment.

Test several places to put the link and then use the position that works best. This may be different in every niche.

Buzzsumo finds the most influential blogs for any keyword. So if you publish a blog post or have a web page about trousers for badgers then bip on over to buzz sumo and enter 'badger trousers' in the search box. The search results will show not only which is the most influential site / page on badger trousers, it will also show you who has shared that page on social media. So you can send an email to everyone who shared the most influential post and say something along the lines of 'if you likes that, then your readers might like my page'. This is exciting because if they link to you then you're getting a slice of the power that made the most influential post so influential.

I still have a bit of success with blog comments but mainly use them for generic anchor links to add diversity to profile...
