Hello,

I've been collecting some good domains and today I recieved an e-mail from a guy who works for "123-reg.co.uk"
He is interested in one of my domains and asked me do I have any other names, I sent him the list and waiting for next e-mail

Have anything like this ever happened to you? I don't really know how to approach this...

You purchased from 123, and he contacted you? Conflict of interest, or an insider grabbing domains. Also make sure it isn't someone spoofing the 123 email.

Looks like domaining by insider, but what kind of company permits these kind of activities using the official email id

If this happens to be true, the guy must be the dumbest (or smarter) person in this world.

None of my domains is purchased at 123

I got a respond and the offer...

This smells fishy to me, I think e-mail is spoofed, He is offering me 15k (domain is good but not worth that much for sure) and is interested in 3 more domains of mine.

He says he is a broker working fomr some guy from Norway, but he is offering me to exchange with Escrow, I don't see a way for him to scam me with escrow

Share your opinions, I will try to find my own broker or something to get professional opinion

If any of youcan PM me profile of BHW moderator who is in charge of domain name forum, I would be very gratefull, I can't remember his name and can't find him

This seems to be a kind of cheating. Please don't believe such mails. If you have doubt you contact that respective company and confirm the same with them by providing the email-id and the message that you have received.

contact the registrar company and ask if they have that guy working with them or if that activity is allowed in their company.

Meathead might be able to offer some advice. I agree though it sounds suspicious. Are you actually replying to him on his 123-reg email though? If so he is genuinely an employee there?

Contacted 123-reg, we'll see tomorrow

Yeah, that's never happened to me either. I would tread lightly if I were you.
