Would IM work for startup mobile disco biz? How?

Would anyone be so kind as to give me ideas, tips or maybe sources of good info on how to apply (effectively!) internet marketing to a local mobile disco business. A couple of fellow retired DJ friends and I pooled some resources together and recently put up a mobile sound system but which hasn't really taken off yet. We've all been out of the party/DJing scene for quite a while, so we're like starting from scratch in a market that is far from what we've gotten used to during our time - new personalities (promoters, party organizers), musical trends, fast-paced advances in gear technology, etc. - and I just thought maybe internet marketing can give the biz a good boost.

Imo mobile disco business needs some targeted facebook groups/twitter promotion. These ones are not expensive and will give you a good growth. And do you have your own ones i mean group/blog/site - that's imperative.

I see your point is that promotion would be more social media-oriented, and I guess my partners are on it right now. But if we put up a website for the biz, would SEO stuff score us some points too? I mean, would it even make sense to try to rank the site employing things like keyword research, competition analysis, backlinking, etc... Would those things work for a biz in a local (or offline) setting like they do with purely online concerns?

You can check in Google Keyword Planner how many people should search certain phrases like "mobile disco YOURCITY" and everything related. That should give you some idea how SEO will help your business.

If you promote this kind of business it is all about generating leads and follow up via a phone call. Obviously depending of the size of your city I would recommend Google Adwords. Your traffic will be laser targeted relatively cheap and you can also run pay per call campaigns meaning that clients can call you straight away from their smartphone without going through a landing page.

Thanks for your post, Leroyxxx. I did as you suggested and found about 10 highly relevant keywords with Average Monthly Searches ranging from 390 to 1,300. Would I get anywhere with those? Should I inspect those keywords more closely? How would you suggest I go about any further research?

The most important point should be social networks, Instagram and Facebook, if you have an original idea you can make good marketing there
