Hello,

I am starting a website. I haven't picked a domain yet, but I was thinking about purchasing a couple that I liked. Should I focus on keywords being in my domain name? If there are multiple domains that have good keywords that i am interested in, should i just get both of them and just redirect one to the other? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Trep

i would remove the keyword thinking that is oldschool. Way more important is if you can have the social accounts for that domain too, to have the availability to have social signals.

Use the website knowem for the quick check of the usual suspects facebook, pinterest, twitter, youtube etc.

You should share what your choices are and what niche you are trying to pursue. It would be easier for us to help you if you give us more details.

As far as I know, right now choosing domain with keywords is not working and is not affecting your SE positions , nor increases traffic to your page. I would suggest you to pick some good domain name, that can be evolved into a brand afterwards. Short one is also preferred over ihaveaGoodServiceForYouAndAllofYourFamilyGetitNoworBePoorFortheRestofYourLife.smth :)

This.

Is this strictly for a website or do you plan do develop an actual business brand out of it? There are also a lot of other factors involved but buy with the intent to build your brand.

I agree that there are a lot of different factors, maybe, but, for example, in health niche, its always a plus if your domain would look like a brand name in future. It's up to a persons intentions, if he wants to build something big out of this domain or it's just a simple webpage that will vanish in ocean of the internet.
