I'm sure this is a common question, but are there any merchant accounts worth using with ebay besides paypal? PP starts off at 2.9% + 30c but drops to 2.2% if you get $10k+/month. Afaik there's also no payment gateway fees.

So in terms of price is there any way to do better?

They did away with the 2.2% rate for non enterprise ($5m/yr+) accounts. The only way to avoid paypal is if you have a pre 2007 selling accounts that you can set up your own merchant processing on.

i called them and they said they still have reduced rates for normal merchant accounts

If you're in the US you can try merchantinc (not an affiliate link). Their fees are 1.99% + $0.25 per transaction. They say they're 100 eBay compatible.
i saw their site but haven't been able to find any solid reviews about them. the fact that paypalsucks places their ad in every signature is also somewhat shady. regarding pricing, they have monthly fees and would require a payment gateway with its own fees

seems like paypal is the best option after all, especially since most buyers expect it at this point
