How to test VPS server?

I have some issues with server and I want to test it how many visitors can it take.
How do I do this? As simple as possible

Try loadimpact I think you can use it to simulate visitors to your site - assuming that's what you mean by testing how many users the server can take?

Yes, that's what I mean. So when they say Virtual users 100, does that mean they are testing like 100 users using my website at the same time? Or one after the other?

This means they have simulated your page loading for 100 simultaneous loads. If your site has intensive internal activities such as database functions, etc... it is possible this test won't reveal the full scope of your load impacts. However, for most people's purposes and non-complex sites - this is a perfectly acceptable measure of how your site would function with 100 people on it at the same time engaging in normal surfing types of behaviors.
