What do you hate most about SEO services on BHW?

1.The worst is when the seller pm's the person the answer to a question. It is the same question and an obvious one that they intended to leave out of the sales page. Everyone wants to know the answers to these questions.

2.Fake reviews. Always got to comb through the threads and discard these shady reviews.

3. I feel bad reviews are held back due to the seller knowing the buyers site/keywords and outing/neg. seo his site whatever. I know I just walk away form a bad service and don't give a bad review as I am scared of neg seo from seller. Isnt worth the risk, just do business elsewhere.

- Price Dumps: I know that a lot of people on BHW are looking for the cheapest service(s)/SaaS available, while expecting great results. But you have to keep in mind, that marketing costs, employee salaries, server costs, software costs, taxes etc. all have to be included in the final service price. So, if we see something well below the average market price for a certain link type and/or service it will probably cut short the aforementioned factors, thus resulting in an inferior end product. This in turn will result in wasted time, money and overall frustration. We mostly rely on services/SaaS that have been recommended by people we can trust or if we know the person that stands behind the service. Do your research!

- Lack of Support: We don't expect immediate replies - but every service provider should be able to properly answer e-mails within 24 hours (at least during weekdays).

- Not offering proper invoices: Although this might only affect businesses from the EU, we think this is a big issue. We find it quite annoyinng, that some services simply do not offer a proper invoice (either on request or by default). If you run a real business within the EU you need proper documentation, a PayPal receipt won't cut it with the tax office.

- Fake Reviews: Already addressed by BHW, which is great to see.

Needless to say, I'm excited to see where DotCom/BHW is taking the marketplace section.

By that argument, mid-tier authority sites should be getting slammed by google because their links are being sold unbeknownst to them. And my comment was just tossing around hypotheticals, I'm not offering a service yet or in the near future. My business right now is content, though I freely admit I have plans to expand down the line.

What argument? There's no way you can guarantee your pbn would pass a manual inspection - authority site or not.

You're getting hung up on the word guarantee, which for the record, I never said anything about. Surely you don't think a PBN that's just a bunch of unrelated articles all on the homepage with links to stuff like "buy garcinia now" or "payday loans nyc" is in the same category as a user-submitted news site? What exactly are you driving at?

I'm not getting hung up on anything. You said "easily pass" a manual inspection, which implies you know exactly what Google checks for during a manual inspection. That claim is no more valid than the ones used by link sellers that promise panda/penguin proof links.

And I also said in my follow-up that I was just tossing out a hypothetical, not making a claim about a service I provide. I even further clarified that I have no plans to offer a PBN or any other SEO service in the near future. It feels like you're jumping down my throat for no reason when my point was simply to ask whether he'd really put his money where his mouth is and pay a significant premium for something that would presumably be a better product.

Let me state in no uncertain terms: I am not Google nor do I work for Google. I do not know what they look for when manually reviewing a site, and I don't expect that I will.

I think we're done discussing this, yes?

I always LOL at the buyers who want to haggle price on $1 articles. "Can I get discount on bulk order?" LOL Buddy, the articles are shit $1 articles. Are you really that broke?

In all fairness I do this and stand by it. Normal cost is around $3 for the articles I get though but I look for bulk discount as I order 50-250 at a time.

This is actually in the works.. last time I spoke with Damien he mentioned something very similar to this coming to fruition after they got the forum upgrade out of the way.

This would be awsome.

No idea on the second part.. but like you I'd be more than happy to pay a "fee" if it meant the market place was much cleaner!

Same, although you may pay a fraction more per service in the long run you save more as all the gash services are gone that just rip people off.

Oh another thing that annoys me...

I don't want to get under the mods skin, I understand they have a tough job approving things...

But have you ever seen a moderator leave a bad review when a thread is approved, I haven't.

Are they saying every single thread they approve is good? Because we all know theres a lot of shit on the market place.

Well it's always possible the sellers go above and beyond for the mods and then BS the rest of the buyers.

Usually you kinda know right away whether a service is good or not,

for example when a mod simply puts 'Thread approved' i leave it.

When the mod goes out of his/her way to detail the service they have tried only then i will continue to read the sellers post.

Fake reviews!! This shit has got out of control here.
This pisses me the hell off. All these accounts with 1, 2, or a handful of posts, just pop up out of nowhere, to post an amazing review of a service they just "paid for". This is the lowest of the low, and should not be tolerated on BHW. Period.

Sellers that feel the need to post 10000000s of reviews each time they take a new page.. fuck off with your lagging my screen bullshit.
When I view BHW from my mobile devices, this urks me to no end. Every single page, there are the same fucking reviews, over and over and over again. Of course the dates of the posts aren't visible, because they're from 2010, and the shit is just annoying AF and needs to stop.

Last but by no means least... Fucking "SEO" Sellers that don't know shit about SEO - LOTS of them around here..
I recently had this issue, where someone sold me a service that completely sandboxed my website. Not sure why the moderator that approved his thread, allowed the thread to be created, to begin with, but I digress.

Anyway, another thing that pisses me off, is when you ask someone a question about their service they offer, and then a day or two later, you receive a PM from some thread-lurker, trying to sell you their service.

In all fairness I have seen a lot of approval posts that simply say things along the lines of "service provided as described". If someone says they will provide 10,000 SER Links and thats what they do then that is a valid comment for the mods to leave. Its upto the user to use the service correctly.

Depends on the moderator...

Yep, I have left bad reviews. Admittedly they're not as common because, if something's that bad, I won't approve it.

In regards to the quality or price of the service, we try not to judge this for approval. There's as much a demand for cheap, low-quality services as the high end stuff and it's not for us to be prescriptive over what people should buy.

I go through the sales copy and match it up to what the seller provides. If they deliver everything they promise, it gets approved and that way the buyer can make a well-informed choice about what he's getting.

In regards to the claims like "panda proof" or "Google approved" - yes, I understand. But a degree of hyperbole exists in almost every sales thread and we try to draw a line on what's acceptable. Things like "no 1 backlinks seller" or "guaranteed to rank in 10 days" are specific claims that can't be proven, so we don't allow them. Claims like "contextual" is a tricky one and definitions range from: "site, content, domain and keywords are highly relevant" through to "the keyword in an unrelated spam comment was relevant". So in these cases, I'll point out in the comments if I think the seller's definitions are a bit sloppy.

Lastly, all this is based on an evolving system and we're human, so I'm sure you'll be able to look through the marketplace and find examples where some things have slipped through. If you receive a service that is drastically different to the one advertised, flag it up to the mods or go through the shitlist process. A seller can state "no refunds" till he's blue in the face but if their service doesn't match their claims, it's irrelevant and it's their responsibility to make it good if they want to continue selling in the marketplace.

Asking questions about the review process won't get under my skin as long as it's an open and honest query and I'll make sure to reply in the same way. We're always trying to make the review process transparent so I'll answer any questions to the best of my abilities.

This has all been an interesting read. I have probably spent a little over 10k here on bhw and even referred a good money friend to a gentlemen on here. There is good, bad, and ugly on this forum. I'm glad they seem to be trying to clean it up but in my case for the question of "what do you hate most about seo services". The marketplace is set up for guys to try and make their bread and butter and unfortunately most of the time it boils down to the fact that you are just a number. I don't see that changing no matter what. It's business and although you would like to think they want to honestly assist you in your projects, the truth is they need that $$$$$ with limited headaches. Now I watch and communicate with people that I think I would want to do business with and I don't even bother with the big names and such. You can get a small guy to do a quality job who really wants to work with less headache than being a cog in somebodies machine. My two cents.

I have never bought anything from the marketplace. However, I can tell you why: I have an aversion to bullshit.

I read through an entire thread before deciding whether or not to purchase a service. It doesn't matter if it's 55 pages - I read through all of them. I want to know how you handle people who complain about your service, how many complaints you've had and whether or not your quality of work has slipped. It's very easy to go above and beyond for the mods or for those who ask for reviews, and even your first few clients. But after you get slammed/overwhelmed, that's a real test for what kind of business person you are and what kind of products you provide.

In the end I see 99% of services are about making money. The cheap $3 for 250 PBN posts are all about getting stuff done en mass, versus taking the time to give each customer the attention their order deserves. The small 1% that seem legit have prices that reflect the fact that they are going to give you quality work. I'm willing to pay for quality. If you're telling me you charge $1 per article, I'm going to avoid you like the plague. If you tell me you charge 5-10 cents per word, I'm going to seriously consider you, because I believe in paying for a top-notch service. You get what you pay for.

I see the Marketplace is just a mess, and I'm new here. It doesn't change the fact that BHW is a great place, but I'm not putting down my money to pay sellers who are obviously only in it for the money. I earned my money through hard work, and if I give it up it's going to be for someone else who is going to work hard for me.

That being said, I'm not going to chance it when so many people are using the same old tactics. I see too many threads where people fail to deliver services, treat their customers like crap, act completely unprofessional, flat out lie about the problems they're having, and still won't do the ethical thing like close the thread until everything is sorted out. The TAT especially bothers me - if it's going to be late TELL THE CUSTOMER IT'S GOING TO BE LATE. Don't just make up excuses or avoid them or only answer them when they publicly call you out on your shit.

I think we need to have a business ethics class on BHW. Seriously.

Well, my budget is not so big yet and I have ordered about a dozen times from BHW marketplace. For people with low budget like me who can afford only about $30-$50 SEO cost for a month or two bad services are disastrous.

I have received bad and good services, the things that annoy me most are the following :

1. TAT , nobody delivers on TAT
2. Answering questions on PM
3.Chasing work and seller when TAT is over.
4. Ignoring PM's after I have ordered and TAT is over. You have to post on their thread to give you attention.
5. Do not deliver the promised (eg. promised PBN links with TF 15+ and I receive TF 8, / ordering unique handwritten article from English writer and receiving shitty article)

This is my list so far for about 1 year in BHW, I hope it will not get an expansion. I have found a couple of good services on my price-range and I will stick with them for now and I will move on more high-range services when I will be able to pay for them. You get what you pay for and I think more high priced services are more serious overall.
