I've already started working on this but I figured I should probably find a way to keep track of it.

I plan to launch an eBook in 8 weeks or less.

I found a very interesting niche of people who need/want my services. So I'm going to create an eBook and sell it to them. It sounds simple, but it's actually not.

Here's what I need so far:

  • eBook outline
  • eBook cover
  • eBook price
  • domain name
  • website
  • website graphics
  • website content

I'm actually about halfway through the eBook outline. I just need to finish it, which I will do in the next few days. What I've been working on is networking and connecting with the audience I'm going to be selling to.

I have an idea for the price but I won't worry about that until after I finish it.

I know what my domain name is going to be. I just need to buy the domain. I'll look for coupons tomorrow. I have a few domains with 1&1 but I'm not going to wait until they have a sale.

I have the website graphics already. I just need to dig them up. I had them made a couple of years ago for another project, but they just happen to be perfect for this project I'm pursing now. You hear that kids? Recycle. It makes you feel good.

I know people who launch eBooks in 3 days. I've bought eBooks that have been written and thrown out there in 3 days. It always makes me shake my head. So I'm going to do my research, take my time and do this right.

I'm also on a schedule. Next month I will worry about the graphics, website, etc. This month I will worry about the writing, website content and the networking. I need to network for at least a month. That's another reason this is going to take so long. I want to be seen and be known as someone who is helpful and understanding, so that when I pitch my product, people will feel comfortable with me. In the end this will make me a lot more sales than just cold traffic and advertising alone.

Finding the big names in my niche and connecting with them is also part of my plan. I'm following a lot of them on FB now, taking notes, etc.

I think this is going to be a fascinating journey. I'm not going to reveal too much about my niche but I will give you a general idea of what I'm doing. I don't have a financial goal with this. It's just always something I've wanted to do, and I figure I may as well do it now while I've got the guts to do it. So even if I get all of this done and only make $50, at least I did something.

Today I'm making a list of influencers in my niche. I'm using an email address I created specifically for this task. I'm using Excel to create a spreadsheet. The list will contain the name, website, email address and Facebook page of each person. I am also going to write down anything interesting that I learn about them that we may have in common. This will help me connect with them on a personal level.

My goal is to connect with 10-20 people who are big players in my niche. Obviously I'm going for 20, but if I can only find 10 I'm good.

Well, this is unique. Never saw a journey to launching a product. Good luck man. :)

Good luck and please don't forget to update this thread. These kind of journey threads are rare and I have never seen any of them updated after a few posts..

Thanks for the votes of confidence guys.

I'm not going to forget to update this thread. I may not want to update it if I run into a wall but I have to have some way of holding myself accountable. Otherwise I'm never going to finish it.

Today I actually joined a FB group of people in my niche. It's a nice sized group with 500 members. I browsed before I introduced myself, and I saw a lot of people had the same problem my product revolves around. Everyone was offering the same solution or some strange variation of it. I felt that it was OK to introduce myself and tell them about my project.

They were all thrilled. They told me to keep them posted. The owner of the group even referred me to other influencers in the same niche. He told me to connect with them and tell them about my project. I told him it wouldn't be out for about two months but he said that was fine. He was looking forward to seeing it.

I reached out to one of the influencers like he asked and I told her about my project. She emailed me back and said that if I sent her a free copy to evaluate and she liked it, she'd promote it for me.

Not bad for 20 minutes of work.

Today I am going to spend some time in the FB group I joined yesterday (about 20 minutes) then work on my actual product. I'm going to finish the outline for my eBook and then do the first chapter. I'm also going to hunt down someone on Fiverr to do my eBook cover.

Last night I bought my domain name before I went to bed. I found a nice deal on namecheap. I was looking for free whois privacy and they offered it, plus I got my domain for way less than $10. It was pretty sweet. So I can cross that off the list.

Ugh. Spent 4 hours networking on Facebook. I hate social media. It's such a time suck. But on the plus side, I got my influencer list up to 17. I'm pretty happy that I surpassed my own expectations for this project. Never thought I'd get past 10.

Since I only work 4 hours a day, I'm going to work on my eBook tomorrow. I did finish my outline for my book though. That's a plus.

I have, Little Dog ZSO.

I've read through those posts. Good thing I'm not giving myself an awesome nickname and treating people like they're beneath me. :| That guy was a tool.

My comment certainly was not a pop at you. It was merely an observation to a post.

I know. I was just making an observation too. That guy was a real douchebag.

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind for future projects.

Today I'm going to work on my ebook first, then check in on Facebook. I'm also going to leave some blog comments on blogs in my niche. They won't have links because I don't have the website set up yet, but I need to get familiar with the influencers in my niche and be seen.

I finished my first chapter of my eBook. It was grueling because I had so much information and I didn't want to cram it all in there at once.

I never did check Facebook. I'll probably do that tonight between playing video games and snacking on something.

Today is my last day on this project for this week. I may do some work over the weekend but I haven't decided what yet.

I'm going to do more writing in my eBook. I'm going to see if I can get another chapter done. Then I'm going to visit blogs and check FB. This will probably be my daily routine until my eBook is complete. Really boring, I know, but necessary.

Wondering if, at this rate, I can get this done in 6 weeks. We'll see.

So I lied.

I worked yesterday on the eBook and also chatted up some people in my FB group. I'm actually a little bit ahead of schedule. I also surprised myself with the fact that I can write about 2000 words in 30 minutes. I guess it helps to have an outline so that you know exactly what you're going to write about. Also doing research beforehand helps tremendously.

Today I'm going to repeat the process, but I'm also going to set up my basic website too. It should only take about 10 minutes, tops. I'm just setting it up; I'm not adding content to it or anything else. I need to hunt down my graphics for my website. They're on an SD card somewhere. I just need to figure out where.

Really impressed with how much headway I'm making. I should be done with the book by next week. I estimate I have 25 more pages to type but anything could happen to delay me. I won't get my hopes up.

I found my graphics too, but never set up my site. I got so caught up in writing and I just ran away with it. I figured later on I may not want to do as much writing, so I'd better take advantage of it now while I can.

Having an outline really does help. That's one of the reasons I'm able to type so much in such a short amount of time, and why my ideas just flow when I'm writing. I'll have to remember that for all future projects.

I guess I'll set up my website after I'm done with my product. I do need to send it off to be professionally proofread, so once I do I'll use that down time to start setting up my site.

Interesting journey.

Mind sharing the niche?

Are you planning on ranking kws for your site? Or are you primarily getting traffic from facebook?
