Tips on flipping domain names?

Anyone have any? This is something that has peaked my interest and I want to start to get involved. I've found a few sources, but I wanted to get some actual advice rather than read an article on someones website.

If its just domain name then try to figure out a niche keyword with high volume search on Google + Bing.
Ensure that the competition is low and most importantly try to get a exact match domain (EMD).

To be frank, I had a very bad experience with domain flipping. What I felt, you need to get a premium listing to get noticed. However, you can play when you do it with a site... preferably, a site with some earning/traffic history.

Have a look at websites that sell domains like Flippa, Namepros etc and try to get a general understanding of what sells and what doesn't. Domains that sell quickly and for a good price are either brandable (4 character domains are very popular and sell for big $) or an EMD of a highly searched term. In most cases

By exact match domain do you mean a domain with that exact keyword? Like if you're doing weight loss you want to try to get a URL with the phrase "weightloss" in it?

I noticed that about the four letter domains. What's up with that? Why are they so popular?
