Gain engagement without following anyone?

I need some help with promoting an account without spamming my username with bots everywhere in my niche and without following everyone in the niche.

Following other people using automated tools isn't necessarily spam. If you're wanting to grow through other means then purchase shoutout's on relevant niche accounts with high follower count's.

Exactly, that's why when I'm building accounts I only follow "very targeted" users who follow similar accounts. That's how I'm usually able to keep an egagement ratio of 10%+ between my followers/posts.

Exactly, that's why when I'm building accounts I only follow "very targeted" users who follow similar accounts. That's how I'm usually able to keep an egagement ratio of 10%+ between my followers/posts.

Yeah I think I'll go with trying to insert myself into some social circle in my niche, and keep on doing that until I've reached satisfactory level.
I follow a guy with 200 followers but get around 150-170 likes on all of his posts, this is honestly what I'm going for at the moment haha.

That's what I was thinking. There are plenty of other ways to gain followers other then "following".

don't know much about instagram but if it's anything like Twitter then following isn't the only way to get noticed - getting involved and commenting on posters in your niche will work just as well.

I think the key is to use NOT popular tags or NOT ONLY MOST popular, because since it is popular your post will be viewed only few times, but if it is not so popular, there is a chance you can get better amount of viewers (likers) and followers. Just try and compare. Find best tags that cover your needs!

And yes, comments is the other way to highlight your account and make an activity that will provide you some feedback.

You don't necessarily need a bot as there are many people here on bhw who do everything manually on their phone. Liking/following/commenting etc.
