I like to put a watermark on my videos with the Youtube URL in case someone wants to rip it off and reupload it. Whatever, the problem is, now Youtube requires you to have 500 subscribers to get a custom URL... f*ck that. Is there a way to get around this? I want a custom URL on my new channel and its going to take forever to get 500 subscribers. Any way to get those 500 subscribers fast anyway? The subXsub thing seems like a waste of time.
Is there a way to get a custom URL that doesn't require 500 subscribers?

Buy your own domain and embed the videos there.
How does this work specifically? believe it or not i've never bought a domain or hosted anything, I just do videos. Do I need to buy the domain but not necessarly host it? what do you mean embed? I just want a name like youtube dot com /yourname Will this give me that or some other shit like a custom google profile name? I don't want any of that.

Today, it is easy to make a site, even if you're a total beginner with WordPress you have really everything, you just need a little bit of will and work, all you need WP has.
Embed, use in the following way, when you upload new video on your YT channel you click on the embed, pick the link and just copy and paste on your website. Believe me, all you need to do is to go into action, it is very easy to do it all.
Thanks a lot man, i will try to register a dot com with the name I want and see how it goes. But the thing is I want to upload a video only after I can make the custom url so I can a put the watermark on the video. Also I see a problem. Since Google updated the URL system all the URLs do is redirection you to the Google profile which looks like shit. For example: youtube com /uscout put this in your url and notice how it just redirections to a channel url with the random characters. You can use the /c/uscout one but the c also makes it look cheap.. so how do I get the url to be youtube com /myname without redirectioning to the channel? (ps: that youtube isn't me, its just an example)

When I type for example youtube.com/tehjamjar or youtube.com/theradbrad opens exactly what I need.
Also, I've tried to find some of my channels and works without a problem, some of them do not have any subs.
I'm not following too much but Google+ gives you the option to change your G+ and YT name, I think this option is given at the beginning, but I'm really not sure because I did not pay attention.
I know they have changed now and you have to have 500 subsribers, 30 days old account and logo, after that you can change the name/url.
Right now it's probably like this :
499 subs, youtube.com/username looks like youtube.com/sdadf43h43jhn3br67jkjky754
After 500 subs, youtube.com/daveman (example)

I've looked it up and apparently you have to wait for a notification that Youtube sends you. Some people has gotten the notification way before reaching 500, some other have got past 500 (meeting the rest of requirements too) and still didn't got the notification so they are stuck without an username. About the website thing method. Will it work with 0 videos? Can't I just add free .tk domain? The blogspot.com name I wanted is already taken.
The amount of misinformation about Youtube (or lack of information) in this forum is incredible. Yes, you can get a custom Youtube URL without having 500 subs, but you need to have a domain name. You just have to associate your channel with that domain name/website. Then you have to verify that you own the website (Both of these things are done through Google + (on the about section of the G+ page created for your channel) for now). After verifying your website url, you will have a little text that reads 'Get Url' and a notice will also appear at the top of the G+ screen in a banner notification. Click that and you will see that you will be offered a URL. At this point it typically won't be the exact URL of your associated domain name, even if that YT channel name isn't taken. What you need to do is NOT choose to get the url at that time, but instead, wait a week or so and check again. Now you should see that they are offering you the url for your domain name.

Yes, it is possible. I have an account right now with 110 subscribers, 7 videos, 32,000 views and a custom URL (not /user/xxxx as this is the old URL that everyone got back in the day. This is a new account with the url /c/xxxx)
