Few simple questions about signing up to a ppi network

1) Do you submit your real name and information when signing up? If yes/no then why?

2) Seeing some networks have the two "paths" Advertiser and Publisher, what is the real difference?
In my caveman mind even after reading the description I dont know which one to choose lol.

1. I always submit my real information when signing up for networks to be on the safe side, but I guess there isn't much harm done unless the network you're signing up for sends tax forms. Don't quote me on this! I'd recommend just signing up with real information.

2. Advertisers are people that spend money for a certain amount of installs. Their software is bundled with the installers. If you've ever installed anything, you will notice that some software asks if you want to install toolbars or if you want to change your homepage. This is basically the advertising side of PPI. On the other hand, there's publishers, and these are the people that distribute the installers to their website for money. Every time a user installs software and installs the bundled ads from the advertiser, the publisher will get paid for it. This is probably what you want to do if you're a webmaster or if you plan to monetize using other forms, such as YouTube videos or social media.
