Which specs for vps to run agressive 125 accounts on FollowLiker?

Moving to vps, and running aggressively (900follow/unfollow, 500+ like per account per day) on FollowLiker. Would like to then have them follow back anyone who follows them which (unfortunately due to the way FL is coded) means running another instance with all 125 accounts on separate settings per account.

So... trying to ballpark the system specs.

What are my priority items? Network connection speed? 1Gbps? Is "shared" no good for network connection?

Windows version? 7? 8? 10? Server 2008? Server 2012?

4GB of ram? More? Does SSD matter at all?

It's already killed my home system as the blacklist is in the millions, but I'm not exactly sure which specs need upped to fix and allow it to actually complete the programmed tasks daily.

Even ballpark figures from anyone doing anything remotely similar appreciated.

-server 2008/12

-4gb or ram is enough

-4cpu cores

-1Gbps connection ( you don't need to be dedicated )


You don't need ssd, mostly you need CPU power and good connection to run more threads.

i'd suggest you to divide 125accs into several projects (4 or 5 project) since your gonna run aggresive setting , 125accs in one projects is not enough time for them to complete the daily task even if it use low delay
i'm using server 2008 R2 since the beginning i bought my FL it works flawlessly
4GB is enough you but you should consider about the CPU as well ,ssd is not really matter i guess

Well, looking at modern 4 core processer, so think I'm covered there.

Yeah, I assumed same about # of accts per project. Dev keeps saying not an issue, but my experience says it is.

Besides, here's a little theory for you I'll share for being helpful:

If you're running 5 acts per proxy, I would think the RIGHT way to run them would be to have 5 instances. Each one has only one account per proxy. That way, whatever similarities they have cannot be traced back to same IP. If one runs out of items to scrape and stops dead, only one account on each proxy stops that task. The other way that everyone seems to be doing, all accounts on the same IP suddenly start or stop the same task with the same search terms at the same time.

Just an educated guess, but I'd say you are tons safer doing it my way. Added benefit is that tasks have time to complete.

Drawback is a bit of a pain to change something since 5 instances.

Also, what sort of resource draw does this create? Just more ram takes care of it because 5 instances, or does it chew up more cpu too? (should chew up 5x the bandwidth since 5 are simultaneously scraping)

This is more or less what I thought.

Looking at 4 core 8Gb ram instance right now.

The OS thing has me a little confused. Never used server OS. I know FL will run on server 2008/2012, but If I decide to run some other stuff on there too, not exactly sure. What's the rule of thumb here? Apps will run, but need addons to do browser stuff, or???

If I've got some spare horsepower there and want to run something else like some instances of Spotify, am I going to run into issues because using sever OS?

Also, is it suggested because it's lighter? Is that the benefit?

Btw... read your journey a while back. You moved over from Tsupremacy, right? You still using FL? If so, are you following back those who follow you? Drives me nuts if you are running group settings that this simple task requires a whole separate instance where each acct has it's own setting. Without it, though, it's a total waste to do any favs, etc. What's the point when they follow you, but then unfollow once you fail to follow back. Anyone found a better way to deal with this?

what about 100mb port speed??

Well, I gotta figure the port speed is important. For round numbers, 100 accounts following and unfollowing 1000/day, then a bunch of favoriting, retweets, etc... we're talking about roughly 300k events / day, and if you're doing any filtering, you may need to scrape way more than that. That's before we even get into anything else like listening for followers.

Dev says to go with windows server if on vps, but not sure if he just said that because it's most common option. I have option to do either that or Windows 8.1 pro. Only reason I'm still debating is I may want to run a couple other things on there if it's got resources left like spotify or other that require browser, etc... and just not sure if I'm going to run into issues with that sort of thing on server OS since I've never used it.

Any more info on the topic?
