Tumblr always ban (soon or later) If you put ads, being them banners or links.
It is a thing that you must expect. Like when you build a castle with cards...
I think there are two basic options:
A) You buy a bot + proxies. And turn it a numbers game. let's say, They ban me 10 I create 20 more.
B) You create legit tumblr blogs on specific niches (without any ad). Grow them. Sell reblogs, shoutouts, likes on fiver, seoclerk, etc
The option A) can be frustrating as hell If you get banned many times, in my experiments, from a single IP 1 or 2 blogs can be alive around a month or so, with direct ads...
Reblogs from other users will remain, no matter if you're banned or not. But these reblogs, I've tracked them and had to few uniques, 0 conversions, or the traffic wasn't real...
If you want to go for A) I think that Scaling it is the unique alternative.
B) Seems easier to maintain but you'll have to manage sales from fiver, seoclerks, keep an eye basically... give instructions/post-sale support to your customers and so... oh, and very important, can happen that if you doesn't have any reputation there, you don't get any visits, you don't get any sale...
A) and B) are the main reason behind most of the people will recommend you to get a cheap domain & hosting + install wordpress + put a theme + post unique articles + put adsense + post more unique articles while you throw backlinks to social media sites like facebook/twitter/tumblr/pinterest/instagram... And they will suggest you to write about "something your passionate" hehe...
