What motivates you??

Very few of us are in this biz, as a matter of survival. Anyone can survive, and go work a shit job at mcdonalds. So whats your motivation for rising above the standard work ethic and taking matters into your own hands?

Personally, I just dont like taking orders from other people. Im a very selfminded individual, and like to do things on my own terms. Im also more than a little bit cocky about my own potential, and anything less than.. well a disgusting amount of success is not something I've let myself get used to.

yea, i am pretty close to the same. i absolutely hate taking orders from someone else. and love to have the freedom to do what i want when i want. that is what really drives me to make money online.

I simply think about my 1st and only job I ever had. That was the worst shit ever. Working in a fukn cube farm taking orders from a person that didn't know shit about managing and a person that I knew more than them in every aspect of business.

The pathetic "hour of freedom" you get every day and the agony of repeating the same shit every single day, every week, every year. Getting paid pennies while the worthless guys above you get paid double or even triple your income while you do all the work.

Yes I HATE that life, hence the reason why I'll never go back to it.

So whenever I need motivation, I guess I just think about my old job and my annoying worthless boss. I'd actually like to go in there today and pull one of these... :fing26:

I worked in engineering for 10 years plus - made a great career out of it...but i simply got bored with it and needed a bigger challenge...

for me i had always wanted to be my own boss... so i quit and started my own business doing web design... for the start i did a lot of outsourcing but i knew my way around html etc and had a good eye for design... then i got fed up of making money for other people with there websites and decided its better to make websites for yourself that generate you money!

have been self employed for 3 years now and have no regrets what so ever - you cant beat working when you want and not having to answer to some dickhead who doesnt know as much as you do but gets paid almost twice as you!

i can earn in a day what i used to earn in a week as a qualified engineer!

I have to agree with smitty on one point,
I've only ever had 2 jobs working for other people. The second one bombed, the first was mind numbingly boring. After that is when I started researching marketing. I already had the proper skillsets (Programming,Graphic design, and a way with words) plus Im a quick learner and a innovater.

I did however spend most of my early life breaking my back on my grandparents farm every weekend from sun up to sun down and every summer day after day. So I know the value of hardwork.

Hence I prefer to spend that value on myself.

Never got along to well with the whole 9 to 5 mindset. My line of thinking is that in that world you are just selling your life to your boss hour by hour, thats time you'll never get back or see again! I don't know about you but thats worth alot more to me than they'd ever be willing to pay me.

Agreed, especially the part that you said you never got along with the 9 to 5 mindset.

I noticed about two months of the 9 to 5, pretty much all my passion to advance/work for myself just disappeared. It was almost like a disease, really scary.

Luckily I hated my boss enough to gain that motivation back.

I have to admit when I see others dragging themselves out the door to go to work for yet another day I shudder at the idea of going back to that.
I remember working at a factory and listening to co-workers, that had worked there 20+ years, all they did was bitch and moan how much they hated their jobs. Every day! I thought I will be damned if I let that be me.

The thing about life is this- The formula for success is simple.
Once you discover something with potential pursue it.
People who work for others, are typically stuck in this mindset that someones going to hand them something if they work hard enough.
The world just doesnt work that way, if you want something- do it for yourself!

I really hate those freaking 9-5 jobs, saying yes boss no boss( next i wont be late on my job
Th first thing when i worked for a company, i ask myself will i be here for the next 30 years?... no wayyy.
I think you can be only successful if you do something that you do with love,
for me that is internetmarketing.
Never the same and every minute a suprise of what will be next hotte$t thing.
And off course the freedom)

I had a job after college (same shit like any other job) and realized that my future is in the hands of some stupid bosses that are where they are by kissing ass all day long.One other thing is I can't work somewhere else knowing that I can make much more working online....

I'm still on my 9-5 job and yes I'm going to do it at least few years to come. I could live from income what I get from net, but I really love my offline job also and I get nice cash from it. Another thing why I can't stop my real work is that I'm too sceptical, even when I earn nice cash online I always think that it can be stop tomorrow....

What motivates me to do online job is that nice extra cash what I can use on my holidays and I can always buy something nice for my "girls" (wife and daughter).... and who knows if I someday live whit that cash too....

See Im in a different boat friend, I started this YOUNG. I have no kids, avoid relationshits(Oops I mean ships) and focus on school work and wild weekends.
Monday-Friday+Sunday Im working torwards my first million, friday and saturday?
Im the same old party boy I've always been (Whats the point in making money if you dont have a life right?)
But im grateful I have that luxury, and figured out a way to pursue my future before becoming a provider. Props to all you guys doing both! you have twice the work to do that we do! Hell, if you still work your day job THREE times the work.
