Hi all,

I am really new on SEO. So if this is a silly question, please forgive me.
I searched BHW but couldn't find an answer.

My question is:
I have two sites, their subjects are closely related but not the same. One of them is old and has much more visitor than the other, let's say this is site A.

Is it OK for SEO that linking Site B from Site A via a banner?
The banner will look like an ad. It will be visible on every pages on site A which has more than 1000 pages/posts. So there will be 1000+ links to the site B.

Thanks for the comments.

OP already said for using contextual backlinks. It's quite okay. Make sure, you are creating footprints SAFE link. Otherwise, you can get kicked. :)

Rather than using banners and ads it would be best to link your site with the help of keyword in a content.

Instead of linking via banner, put link in the unique content by a keyword.

Yes that's perfectly OK as long as you don't over optimize the image. Remember OP that a lot of things are okay
in fair quantity. It's when your link portfolio contains a weird amount of something Google really notices.

Welcome to BHW ;D
