Hey guys, so Im relatively new to the forms tho i've been lurking for years now. The reason for the post is that I think I may be getting penalized because of PBNs

I have two money sites that are about 8 months old, and just two months ago i started building PBNs. Initially I only started with 10 and saw only a slight increase in rankings eventho my competitors only had about 50 PBNs of their own. So i decided to expand the network and got another 20 domains over the course of a month because i wasn't getting close to page 1 even for keywords that had around 200-300 searches per month. Every single PBN site was on a completely different IP, different host, and used WHOIS Privacy as well as hidden from bots using htaccess file. After adding the last 5 domains about a week ago, 4 days later I noticed that majority of my keywords that were ranking for the homepage completely disappeared to pages 20+. However, my money sites are still indexed (thank God). I then immediately started doing research on my PBN and noticed in the Web Archive that the domains I purchased for the PBN have been used as a PBN before and some of them had Chinese characters.

Questions:
1. Do you think my site tanked because of the low quality domains i used as PBN, or simply the Google dance because of the recent new links?
2. Should i remove all the links from the PBN?
3. Should I use disvow tool, or will it trigger a manual review by Google?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!! :)

Wait 8 months for them to update their index again, and it might pop back above amazon, youtube, google play store, google play store and youtube

Oh, no no and no. Third being the most NO. It's shit and does nothing.

PBNs I purchased had great metrics, with clean backlinks profiles. The only issue was that they were used as PBNs before and were in Chinese when looked up in Web Archive....

Properly because they were in some deindexed network. But now all you can do is wait and see. Try to add more content to your site.

Thanks for the input peterngo91! Well all the domains I got, indexed perfectly fine in Google. I would check all of them site:

Do you think I should continue scraping domains (quality ones of-course, without prior PBN) and linking building, or should i just move on and create new money sites. Like I said, my money sites havent been deindexed, and there are no messages in WMT....

I looked them up on Web Archive Wayback Machine and it is obvious that they were PBNs.

.

If you're 100% sure then it's easy as pie

Remove the links from the domains and build new backlinks

Check the backinks of your PBNs, If it have good and related backlinks then it is safe to move(since you already have differnet IP blogs). if not remove links from PBN.

That is my problem, the backlinks of the domains are good and clean, but the domains themselves have been used as a PBN before and have Chinese characters in content. I think it safe to say that I need to ditch the domains...

Do not use old Chinese content PBN domains as they have some algo penalty and why your rankings dropped.

Delete links from those domains and build better links and you should recover in time.
