How to Increase Your Click-Through-Rate (CTR) & Traffic by Optimizing Your Pages

I thought about changing the title and meta description, but I always feared it will mess up the position of my page. But yea, even if I fall down a couple places, a more compelling title should compensate for this drop and potentially bring in even more visitors.

Another thing people might consider is putting the current year in the title (when doing "review" articles especially). I see some of my competitors still have 2013 or 2014 (from the time they wrote the article)... having the current year compels people more to click as the information seems current and up-to-date. What are your thoughts on this?

Great article! CTR is something rarely talked about but very important. Bookmarked!

I had a question though, how do you prevent google from choosing the title for you? I had few pages that google refuses to follow my title. for example: my title is "best blue widget - no compromises - fast results", but google change it to "best blue widget with no compromises - example.com" They even changed my title to some french word after I tried changing the title. Weird shit.

You can never 100% control the title.. Google does some weird shit now and then.. BUT, out of all the sites we work with that are WordPress we use WordPress SEO by Yoast.. and setting your title on each post/page in the yoast settings always results in full control over the title. If you have a WP site I would suggest using that plugin to force write your titles

I know man it's amazing that it's not talked about a lot more here.. people assume #1 rankings means $$$, but the reality is quite different - if you can't get clicks then your rankings do not mean shit.

Amazing work again t0mmy. I just love keep reading your threads man!!!

Keep such posts coming please!!! If you can, please share a thread with how you track the most converting traffic sources to scale that up. I have been struggling a lot with tracking the most converting traffic sources in my affiliate sites.

Cheers man.. What kind of tracking are you asking about? Most of the time I will use software for tracking on affiliate sites - CPVLab, Posper202 and so on - set each traffic source up in different campaigns then monitor and compare the data.. simple enough. Perhaps you are talking about something else though?

Give me a little more details.. I'll see what I can come up with thread wise then.

It's time to optimize my website and strategy to attract more traffic on my website.
